I decided to do a poll for my 100'th post. And since I am a fan of both the Alien and Predator series, here it is. Are you planning on seeing the new movie? I as a fan have been waiting for this since they showed the bug skull on the Predator ship in 2. And, do you think it will do well in the box office? Thank you for your input. :P

Zaphod,

"Meow is not just another four letter word."

"Neither is purr."

I'm more of a fan of the Alien, than the Predator, so I'm gonna go with him., to kick some Predactor @$$. Sigh.. I just hope it won't be a tie like the Freddy vs. Jason flick.. as I said before., that would suck. :P and as for the movie being a hit, I don't think so.. it'll probably just attract Alien/Predator loyalists.

I picked "Don't really care, I'm gonna go see it anyway.", much the same way that I went to see Freddy vs. Jason no matter if it was hit or miss.

Like Freddy vs. Jason, I think it would have been a bigger hit if they had it a long time ago - like when the Alien and Predator movies were out, the Alien vs. Predator video games and comic books were out, etc.

I wouldn't want to see it, I just like voting in polls so that other people can see the standing. ::ducks and runs for the hills::

This is what, the fourth Alien movie? You can tell I'm not a big fan. I've seen the first three on TV, many times, but I never paid much attention, I read while I watched it. As for Predator movies--I've never seen them.

I'm not going to go see it in theatres. I don't think I'll even tape it when it comes out on TV as I do with most movies. I will, however, at least watch it.

I don't think it will be a box-office hit, but it might do nicely as an alternative for those who don't want to see Spider-Man 2, Catwoman, and the other big flicks. I recently went to see I, Robot, where I saw a preview for Alien Vs. Predator, mostly because I had narrowed it down to either that or King Arthur, and my brother wanted to go see I, Robot.

So I think it will make a ripple, and be worth whatever they spent on it (although who knows, they could have spent an exorbitant price), but it will not be a big hit.

I have to disagree. Many people, like Van Roy will go watch the movies just becuase they loved the orginal movies. Hence why the spent all those bucks making it :P

Besides the trailor for it rocks! :)

::roots for the Aliens::

Its like a Trek Movie "Romulans versus Klingons" who ever wins the Lloann'na scum lose!

Yeah, I have to agree with N'Dak here.. the reason why these old remakes of old movies are out and about to bring back the old fans of the alien/predator movies, and to bring in new generations of fans. I'm hopefull it'll work, and I'm certain it'll bring in a respectable amount. I just hope it go the way of the new Star Wars series. I myself would like to go see it, just to relive my old memories of these classic films, and see who wins. But as I said before, I'm not sure it'll be a totally big hit. :P

Hey there,

If I was truly a fan of either of these series, I wouldn't be hoping for this movie to go the way of the Star Wars franchise...one where many, many, many fans are up in arms over the quality of the prequel films. :/

Personally, when I did see these movies I was a little fascinated by them but never really got into them. That being said, I think the movie concept is idiotic at best. This is comparable to the upcoming Superman vs Batman movie that's under development. It makes no sense what so ever, betrays the integrity of the franchise(s) and is nothing more than an studio's attempt to milk the last bit of money out of something.

If I were a die hard fan of either of these, I would be insulted at the fact this movie is coming out.

Jeez...Oh all the sci fi combos, the oldest I remember was Alien Vs Preadator. People have been wanting this for at least a decade.

Yeah...but the Alien Vs Preadator games actually have a good plot...at least for a cash cow fanchise...

And the real reason I posted...About starwars. People are complaining because it's simple. Its more of a documentary then a movie. We all know what's going to happen to Anikin. We all know what is going to happen to the Jedi and the Repbulic. Lucas is trying to add some interesting sides, since we know about 85% of the content of the movie already. And I guess people dont like that.

Thats why I think they should have done sequals. I love the book series. I want to see the Yu Hazongvong (sp) on the big screen destroying the Jedi again.

Well I of course just have to chime in. :P

At first I was skeptical about the movie when I heard about the plot and everything about a year ago. The whole taking place at one of the polar regions and all Aliens and all that being frozen just sounded silly to me. I thought the film was going to flop.

But, when I saw the trailer to it (The full length one), I thought "Wow...this movie might actually be pretty neat!". So I have decided that I'm going to go see it, and as far as the box office, I don't think it will be a Blockbuster, but it might make a good run in theaters. Just due to the huge fan base that both series have.

P.S. And yes for those that are interested I am a huge fan of the Alien quadrilogy. Never really liked Preadator, but I watched it a few times.

Probably flop... no matter if it's a good movie or not...

Fred...Superman vs Batman? Are you serious?

Aside from the fact that they're both good guys, what exactly is Batman going to do against Superman? Superman could pick up his batcave and throw it into space...that's a stupid movie concept, IMO.

Indeed. I think that the entertainment industry needs to be seriously reformatted if it's going ahead with this. Batman and Superman would never fight each other anyway, they're both good guys!

Besides, Batman has no superpowers. Sure he's a great superhero, but against Superman he wouldn't stand a chance, even if he did have some kryptonite.

Consider:

And I know for a fact there's been Spiderman vs. X-Men/Fantastic Four as well as Superman vs. Batman crossovers. Usually it starts with the respective heros trying to save the day two different ways and getting in each other's hair, then realizing their goals are the same and joining forces for the final battle. One should not be alarmed at the concept ^.^ However, I am a little alarmed by this movie for the simple reason that besides the Stan Lee comic productions, I have a strong distrust of comic book movies.

I'll only see it if Sigorny Weiver's in it. Otherwise, I just like voting.
