Most Illogical

Commander Khevio

Commanding Officer | Vulcan Sol Fleet

SD 0407.06

>Begin<

Khevio strolled onto the bridge of the t’Pa. He was met almost immediately by a young ensign looking grave, even for a Vulcan.

“Commander,” the ensign cutting to the chase, “I have a most troubling transmission for you.”

“You do?”

The first thought that crossed his mind was that the Andorians had begun attacking, but the lack of Red Alert alarms calmed him slightly. “Go ahead.”

“You received this Level 8 transmission from an Ambassador Rex, on Earth.”

The ensign handed Khevio the communiqué. He looked it over a few times, making sure what he read the first time was true.

“Confirm the authenticity of this, make sure it is not a Andorian trick. If in deed it is authentic, inform Ambassador Tovek.”

The Ensign nodded and scurried off.

Khevio couldn’t believe what he had just read. They were asking…no kicking them out of the system. It was the most illogical action he had ever seen. So illogical only a human could think it.

He sighed and sat down in the center chair.

---

The ensign sat down at his communications consol and tapped away. The message, he found, was as authentic as it could be. It had been sent from the Ambassador’s office on Earth and showed no signs of tampering.

He reported his findings back to Khevio and then headed to tell Ambassador Tovek.

---

As the Ensign left, Khevio sighed even deeper. “Operations, signal the fleet. Tell them to place their warp engines on stand by. Helm, do so as well.”

They both turned and looked at him with quirked brows, but did not question him. They did as ordered and soon the entire Vulcan fleet was on stand-by to withdraw from the Sol System. But they would wait, Khevio didn’t have to get Tovek’s approval—but he felt it best to consult him first. And so they would wait a little while longer.
