Seeing red

The Air France transport shuttle began it's entry into Mars' orbit. Seiben sipped his second glass of brandy, and looked out of his window at the red, rocky Martian terrain. Devoid of any kind of life whatsoever, the large red mountains and cliffs had a kind of erie natural beauty. It certainly as a rather large contrast to the palm trees and beaches Seiben grew accustomed to in Marseilles.

A large part of him already began to miss the sun and warm climate of Marseilles, but it was his job to go where the work went. Due to the recent events, such as the Klingon attacks at the Construction Facility near the Moon, Starfleet moved the project over to their colony on Mars. Luckilly though, GE was fast in booking Seiben a flight there, ASAP.

The flight itself, a non-stop flight from Charles De Gualle International Airport in Paris, France to Mars was uneventful. Seiben enjoyed the lavish comforts and immecable service of the Air France Business Class service staff. There wasn't many people in the flight either, mostly other workers from GE. The Martian surface slowly became larger and larger as the shuttle made its descent on Mars.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now beggining our descent to Mars. Please place all trays and tables in their upright positions, and fasten your safety belts. Thank you for flying Air France, and we hope you fly with us again in the future" the stewerdess chimed in.

Belted in, Seiben looked out at the airport. The shuttle touched down smmothly and made its way to the terminal at the airport. The engines began to whine down, as Seiben grabbed his carry on luggage and headed out of the craft. In the airport, Seiben was met by a GE driver, who took him to the colony.

The Mars colony was pretty crowded, and looked quite impressive indeed. He was taken to the construction facility, where the warpdrive was already there waiting for him. In the past month, the warpdrive really began to take shape, was was very nearly complete. After countless consultations with the Vulcans and Starfleet, the wardrive truly was a marvel of technology.

But, there still was alot of work to do, and only a little more than 2 months to do it. Most of the Challenger' saucer section has been constructed, and construction of the nacelles already was beginning. Seiben looked out at the wardrive. Construction on the unit will resume tommorow. For now though, Seiben shall enjoy his new home on Mars.
