Incompetent ship designer fired

I was watching Wrath of Khan tonight and decided that it was pretty stupid to have a radiation chamber with a revolving door that anyone could just waltz into. So here's my article about the designer of that chamber getting fired because of its repercussions.

Incompetent designer fired today

The investigators appointed to the Enterprise disaster have uncovered shocking news. Captain Spock died inside a radiation chamber, also known as the JYU-4 series of radiation chambers currently integrated into the starship Enterprise and the USS Eridanus (which has also suffered a loss recently, more at 7). Dr. Tyler Madden was blamed for Spock's death, being the designer of the chamber.

Madden claimed innocence, but investigators have amounted a shocking amount of proof that Madden has deliberately overlooked major design flaws. The investigator head, Davies McDavies, says, "I mean, anyone could just walk into engineering and give everyone a lethal dose of radiation! Seriously, the revolving door is a major design flaw. And making the space large enough for someone to go into . . . why the heck would someone do that? It's not like we can't do maintenance with machines."

Other violations: Madden neglected to place a "Warning: Lethal Radiation Chamber" sign on the chamber, making it a threat. Furthermore, the radiation chamber was exactly 6.5 cm off-centre. "That alone could have meant disaster for any bureaucrat on board," says McDavies.

This arrest has been the seventeenth in six months. Many other radiation chamber inventors, and their inventions, have been arrested and confiscated. Starfleet is looking for a new chamber type, and when asked, McDavies said, "I recommend my cousin's, Richard McDavies' Radiation Chambers."

Incidentally, the Richard McDavies Radiation Chambers are the only providers not arrested for safety violations.

End Federation Report.

You rock. I'm glad I'm not the only one who pays way too much attention to details in movies. ^_^

Thanks. Seeing as I graduated, I can't really say I'm with the Academy anymore. So I banged my head against the wall (well, no I didn't really). Actually I just thought I needed some filler. So presenting: the avatar that really isn't there.

You know, you could just hit the checkbox that says "Use no avatar," but... whatever. ^_^

Then I wouldn't get to poke fun at people through annoying looping comments.

I like how the avatar separates my title and my name with just the right amount of space. It wouldn't be the same without an avatar. ^_^

Like it says, contact the Ferengi. Make sure that you call collect, however, because the Ferengi long long long long distance charges will, quite literally, bankrupt you.

This message brought to you by the Ferengi Subspace Service. Making your calls short and costly.

Yeah, probably the most dangerous part of the ship. No lock on the door, no security codes, not even a "Keep Out" sign. I mean some kid could just wander into the warp core area and have a really bad day.
