Trichon

"Perchance to Dream"

Trichon was still hard at work in the shuttle bay. Peyton had left several minutes ago and he thought while he was down here he might as well check for any structural damage within the shuttle bay itself. He sat back in a small chair and started filling out the report. He let out a large yawn. Sleep had still eluded him. With all that had been happening on board the Arcadia he was suprised anyone had gotten any sleep. The engineers most of all. Trichons eyes seemed to have a mind of there own now as they did not want to stay open for any length of time. Before long the PADD he was working on clattered to the floor as Trichon drifted into sleep.

Trichons eyes opened and he looked around. He was sitting in a chair in the middle of room. All around him was darkness. He couldn't see very far. "Hello is anyone here?"

"That would depend on who you ask." A female voice echoed from the darkness around him. He couldn't tell from what direction it was coming. Suddenly he heard something whistle through the dark and clatter to the ground in front of him. Trichon picked it up and looked at the object. When he realized what he was holding he went cold with fear and the object hit the ground in front of him. A Romulan dagger just like the one that was used on him glinted in the light. "Who are you?" he asked with a tremble in his voice.

"Dont you know who I am? We had such an enjoyable time together. I cant believe you've forgotten me all ready." just then the female romulan guard t'Vixen stepped into the light. She had a evil grin on her face. It was that exact grin that had been ethced into Trichons memory. It was the grin that haunted him. t'Vixen reached down and picked up the dagger, "What you do na like the present I gave you. My dear Trichon, let me make sure you wont lose this gift." Suddenly she ran at him and plunged the dagger into his chest. When Trichon looked up at her it was no longer the face of his romulan tormentor, but that of Commander Dacotah. "Is that better Trichon?"

"Why? Why are you doing this?"

"Why? You ask me why. I'll tell you why, because you are weak. You couldn't save me. You couldn't even stand up to the romulans. You were going to tell them everything you knew. You are a weak and broken man. Arcadia has no more use for you. I have no more use for you. Ruca had no more use for you. Thats why she left. She couldn't stand the thought that the once proud Trichon was no more. Instead he had been replaced with a weak and pathetic excuse for a man." As she spoke she slid back into the darkness. "Now I leave you here to die."

Trichon reached down and pulled the dagger from his stomach. He began to slip out of the chair and suddenly.....

He slammed into the deck of the shuttle bay with a thud. He shook his head and tried to clear his thoughts for a moment. It had all been a dream. Or a nightmare. Either way there was a truth to what was spoken in the dream. He had broken on the Talon. He couldn't help the people he cared about then, what made him think he could help them in the future. Trichon sat on the cold floor of the shuttle bay and pulled his knees to his chest. He sat and stared at the scars on both his hands and knew that truly in his heart he was a broken man...
