"Defying the Stars"

The glass narrowly missed the monitor and smashed into the wall beside. "Blasted Starfleet, who do they think they are making new ships. We dont need more ships."

Sloane sat behind his desk and fumed. He had been against the building of Enterprise and now he was not warming up to the idea of another warp ship out there Trekking through the stars. Sloanes biggest problem was not the fact that Earth was finnaly going to the stars. No his problem was the Vulcans, Andorians, and god knows what other aliens that were out there. Sloan didnt trust a single one of them.

How did we know that the aliens didnt want us to leave earth weak and unprotected by leading us to the stars? And then when the time was right they would attack us at our most vunerable moment. He also felt that by focusing all there resoursces on constructing new warp ships that Starfleet was putting its priorites in other places besides Earth.

He couldnt get over this feeling that Humans seemed to be dogs begging for tablescraps from the Vulcan's or who ever else just happened to have the answers. Sloane would not stand by and watch Starfleet destroy everything that Earth had ever stood for by letting us be led around by other species. Starfleet needed to learn a lesson. Sloane would make them remember but how to do that....
