PERSONAL LOG

Erei’Riov tr’Farek

Dishern Communications Officer, Galae Command

Teran Date June 3, 2003

>Begin Log <

tr’Farek walked nervously down the long cold halls of the Galae Command on ch’Rihan. He was on his way to a very high level meeting. In his right hand he carried an ISD nervously. He had never been invited to or even aware of such meetings of the leaders of the Galae and the Tal’Shiar untill a few days ago.

Two days ago had changed his life forever. It was then that he had intercepted a message from the Lloann’na Galae, and not only that but managed to successfully break through the Lloann’na language and translate the message. With in hours of informing his Daise, Khre’Riov tr’Yek, of the break through, he was picked up my a member the Tal’Shiar and told to tell na io of his find, and that he would be required to have a meeting with members of the Tal’Shiar and Galae Command.

More scared than anything else, tr’Farek came to the end of the long hallway, which he also didn’t know existed until two days ago. After tapping in his clearance code, the doors whished open.

tr’Farek looked around the room. It was dimly light with little visible adoration on the walls. In the center of the room was a round table with several Rihan seated. The only io he recognized was that of his Daise, Khre’Riov tr’Yek.

Standing to look at his lackey. Tr’’Yek motioned him into the room. “I would like au quii to meet Erei’Riov tr’Farek,” tr’Yek said as he pulled a chair for tr’Farek. “H’Nah, for what we are assmybled here for.”

The table stayed silent as tr’Farek took his seat and placed the ISD on the table.

“Two days ago,” tr’Yek began, “tr’Farek intercepted a most disturbing communiqué from the Lloann’na Galae. Tr’Farek, please give them the jist og this communication.”

tr’Farek looked around for a few second blinking at all the rank sashes that the officers gathered around him had, he was truly in the presence of the most elite Rihans in the empire, he gulped and opened his mouth. “The Lloann’na have began production of yet another ‘Warp 5’ starship…”

Before he could say anything else he was cut off by one of the more surly Rihans, who was seated across the table. “BAHHH!!,” the Rihan bellowed. “This is of na consequence to me or the Empire! What is io more Lloann’na vessel??”

tr’Yek held up a hand. “Please Director tr’Neer,” he said, “Allow tr’Farek to finish. Aus will understand soon.”

tr’Neer didn’t seem to be to accepting of this, but motioned for tr’Farek to resume.

“As I was saying, the process of building these Star Ships had been na only a expensive process but also a lengthy process, however, according to the Communiqué they will complete this ‘USS Challenger’ in three of their standard months.”

Even tr’Neer looked on in disbelief, shock, and awe. “Surely na?” tr’Neer said. “This can na be.”

Another of the Rihans, clearly of the Galae judging by his uniform looked at tr’Farek for a few seconds then opened his mouth. “Are aus sure that this is na just a mistranslation by aus?”

“Na,” tr’Farek said. “Na.”

The room buzzed for a few second with various discussions about what they had heard, then one of the Rihans turned to tr’Yek. “How can aus be so sure that this is true?”

“We have confirmed it with our sources with in the Vulcan Government.”

At that the buzz of the room went in to a full roar. Only tr’Farek and tr’Yek remained silent. “We must act then!” yelled one man.

“Ie, we must take action,” a Rihan woman concurred. “We can na allow these Lloann’na to gather their forces and build many ships while we set idly by!”

Invasion plans of Earth were well underway when a booming voice from the shadows silenced them.

“Enough!” the voice boomed.

As the voice got louder tr’Farek began to make out the figure of the source of the voice. A tall imposing Rihan with many decorations upon his tunic came into the dim light.

“tr’Farek, hann’yyo for aus mehnka work au will be rewarded,” the man said. “H’Nah...for the matter at hand.”

The previously smug Rihans around the table now seemed almost intimidated, even tr’Neer. The tall Rihan took his seat at the end of the table and tapped his fingers a few times getting the rooms attention completely, as if he hadn’t had it before.

“This is in deed a most disturbing report,” he said. “It seems we underestimated the abilities of the Lloann’na. However, we still know very little about the Lloann’na and I wish to learn more before I advise the Senate that we will be going to war.”

“But Rehhkai,” tr’Neer spoke up. “The Lloann’na are weak, we should strike now before they become strong. If we are strong is this na the sign for war?”

“Na,” the tall Rihan said. “We still know to little about the Lloann’na…”

He was cutoff. “They are a mere child-race,” t’Nexi yelled. “We are Rihanssu! We are the D’Era!”

She must have realized was pushing a little to far, or at least that’s what tr’Farek gathered when she shut up as soon as the tall Rihan fixed his eyes on her, because she shut up.

“Forget na that knowledge is power,” the tall Rihan said. “Na we will na go to war just yet. However, the Lloann'na have caught our attention, and the eye of Ch'Rihan is now fixed on them.”

“Surely aus do na mean to have diplomatic contact with them?” someone said.

“Na,” the tall Rihan said. “We shall na reveal our selves to them, we shall use covert methods.”

He looked to tr’Neer. “Aus will take care of this, Ie?”

tr’Neer nodded. “Ie Rehhkai.”

“Good. For if knowledge is power, then to be unknown, is to be unconquerable.”

Those around the table nodded. “Very well then, if there is na other questions. We shall adjourn. Remember this meeting is classified.”

The meeting adjourned and the members slowly drifted out of the meeting. The tall Rihan disappeared just as he had appeared. When they were alone tr’Farek turned to tr’Yek.

“Who was that?”

tr’Yek grinned. “That was Daise’Khre’Riov N’Dak.”

The name rang through tr’Farek, he had only heard of the man, never seen him nor had anyone else he knew. “Is he always so…ominous?”

“Ie, there is na Rihannsu in the Galae that can honestly say he is na afraid of that man. What he says goes, and na io who wished to live long will cross that, na even the Fvillah.”

Tr’Farek was in awe. “What did he mean ‘will be taken care of’?”

Again a grin crossed tr’Yek’s face. “tr’Neer is Director of the Tal’Shiar. I assume they will place a spy on the ‘Challenger,’ but the ways of the Tal’Shiar are na known even to me. Come let us na speak of these things. Au is na longer a meer Dishern aus knows?”

tr’Farek smilled and was led down a corridor and into the ch’Rihan sun. From this day forward, his life would very different.
