Something I really hate.

Nose hairs. :)

I mean I'm sure they serve some kind of biological purpose, but I have no idea what. I mean my nose was perfectly fine until about 10 years ago when I started growing hairs on the inside of my nostrils. Not only are they unsightly and embarrassing but they are just really hard to trim up.

I tried plucking them out with a pair of tweasers, but that is a pretty moist part of the anatomy and it's really hard to get a grip on them. Plus they are thicker than normal hairs, and in a very tender spot, so when you do attempt to pluck them out they hurt. I mean like eye-watering hurt! I found a special pair of scizzors with a slightly curved blade assembly and that's what I use to trim them up but even this is dangerous.

I thought about growing a moustache so I could get away with not trimming them, but moustaches itch. I hate ear hair too, but at least that is easy to remove.

So how do the rest of you remove your nose hairs?

I believe that nose hairs help contribute by trapping scents so that your nose can identify them and send them to the brain.

But you're right, they're extremely annoying. Especially in the morning.

I'm not old enough to remove nose hairs yet. (Caution kids, don't try this at ho--aaaaarrrgh!)

::thinking that Van Roy is starting to go on rants like Kroells...::

Anyway...nose hairs are an important part of the sense of smell, so unless you have long old main hairs or your just OBC about them, I wouldn't advise pulling them, and unless they can do laser-hair removal in your nose, plucking would be the only way I know off....::tosses the ball to one of them women in STSF...they know more about 'plucking' hair::

If it really bothers you, suck it up, and go to the store and buy a nose hair trimmer.

Ah, nose hairs. They keep random particles from getting through to your lungs and brain, you know, stuff like dust, fingers, and small rodents. But, if they are sticking out of your nose, by all means, remove them.

And I personally don't pluck anything. But I don't think your supposed to use cream on anything known as a Mucus membrane. So, plucking or frying are your only choices that I know of.

Frying? Are you actually suggesting that he stick a lit match up his nose to remove the offensive hairs?!!?

At least now if VanRoy shows up at ShoreLeave with his finger up his nose, you know why!

Yep, I'm like a rebel without a cause, and I get all the girls...

Anyway, to the topic...if it really is one...

Being only 16, I dont have do deal with this problem now, and hopefully ever. I've heard those new micro cutter deals, the ones with the little cutters their selling of the shopping network are pretty good. Suporsed to be able to groom your self pretty well with them.

One my my bosses at work has terrible nose hair, it's really become distracting acctually. But since I like my job, I'm kinda afriad to say anything...

::Just relized that Vanroy has a nose hair problem::

Ahh! My eyes!

Actually, this is a bit of a wives tale related to shaving, though I had no idea it was associated with plucking as well. If the commercials are to be believed, plucking/waxing/sugaring is actually supposed to make the hairs come back finer and slower, since you are removing the root of the hair as well as the hair itself. I can fairly safely say that plucking leads to a slower return of the hair as opposed to shaving, if only because the suckers have to grow from the root up as opposed to the skin up, but the thickness and strength of the hair is probably just the same as it would be if you left it alone to begin with.

And my own curious brain told me to pluck some of my nosehairs once when I was a little kid. That friggin' *hurts*

And what the heck is frying? :) That like Nair or something? I wouldn't want to stick that horrid stuff up my nose...

Nair is such a ripoff :) It doesn't work worth a dime.

Nose hairs. eh? Happily I've not yet had to woryy about that, but likethe others said, it is a needed part of your nose there. For it does indeed help send smells to your brain and keep dirt and dust out of your nasal cavity. I'd say to just leave it alone, unless it's really large.

As I said to Feanor a few years ago...

"Nair smells like burning watermelons, and then you realize the burning is you!"

Pardon me for talking in slang over your heads...frying would be a reference to N'dak's reference to 'laser hair removal', which in my twisted mind brings forth images of frying.

Now that I think of it, dude, why would you do that to your nose?? Yeah, ripping them from your tender flesh seems way more intelligent.

Well..I have an interesting take on nose hair...I do na have a sense of smell in RL..so ..nose hair is already useless to me...and thankfully it has stayed where it belongs...

Be proud of your body Van Roy...if you have long nose hair...braid it...heck..get some nose Dred locks...show some creativity man...you're a Vulcan...well...sort of... :)

And if au really want to complain about totally useless hair ..what about the ones responsible for the Kling-ons occasionally circling Uranus... :)

::looks to Fred:: Yep...I took it EVEN LOWER

Lovely.. well, like nose hairs, and snot, Earwax contributes in keeping foreign elements out of one's ear canal. But hey.. it's gross too, but that's what Q-tips are for. lol. And Vosh, man.. you're one sick individual. :D

You know, it is unusual the way some men groom on their upper lip the same stuff that grows wild on their butt. :)
