To All Cardassian Military Assets:

 

This message is cleared for distribution amongst all persons as seen fit. Detailed information to be transmitted at a later point for Legate and Gul classifications.

 

This is a priority alpha transmission. While many details are not yet available, this message is being transmitted per orders of the Prime Minister. At 16:48 fugo, an object of unknown size was detonated somewhere near the industrial center within the city of Z'lo, capital of Illopera. Preliminary information as to the device's true nature are not yet known, though atmospheric indicators suggest a fusion weapon.

 

Further information is being gathered and reports will continue to be transmitted as they are available. However, it is confirmed the terrorist attacks have almost completely vaporized half of the capital on the island of Illopera.

 

This will become known to the public populations within the hour, per directives from the Prime Minister. To that end, all military installations and vessels are hereby ordered to set condition two and standby for further instructions.

 

I repeat, condition two alert.

 

While we cannot be certain, intelligence suggests the attack was coordinated by the "Free Cardassian" separatist group who made themselves known when the present political cycle started.
