Catwoman is a ripoff, too! When I saw Catwomans outfit this is the first thing I thought of...

Black Scorpion (1995)

I wish I could find a picture of the Scorpionmobile :ph34r:

::coughs::

Okay here is my two-cents:

(in no particular order)

First: Don't knock signs...everyone in the theater jumped with that hand slid out from underneath the kitchen pantry door.

Second: Shrek...bleck...but the little kids want to see it

Third: Gee I wonder why there are so many sequals, oh wait becuase the studios have decided it is easier, cheaper, and the can make more money by creating a sequal.

Fourth: Catwoman in a Bikini ::purrs:: Have you seen who is in it Vex???? (oh wait fish don't like cats do they?) {oh yeah and how can catwoman be a ripoff of something created in 1985? The Catwoman charcter was created in the 1960's!}

Fifth: As much as I hate it, Harry Potter will rule the summer (unless something cool is the big suprise, you know like Pirates of the Caribean was last year :ph34r:

Sixth: Marris is right on Arthur, but like Huffy said it won;t be to bad (you just have to do like I did during Troy and try and forget everything you know)

Seventh: Day After Tommorow...hmm I think I have seen some other movies like this, not sure, one was called Deep Impact, uhh some movie called Armagedon, oh and 28 Days....hmmm.....hmmm....yeah.....(and BTW Ice Ages don't happen fricken over night)

Eigth: It's not "I see Dead People" its "The Sixth Sense"

Ninth:

But here is an interesting twist. Sigourney Weaver (Ripley) will star in the Village. Now if the movie is successful and can stay the course two weeks...it will be in theaters the same time AVP (Alien Vs Predator) opens....Sooooooo

Sigourney will be fighting aliens...once again.

MMMM ::drools:: Sigourney

Hmm....seems I went over my two cent limit....hmmm ::tosses in some more::

Well in regards to Catwomen, I'll chime in. :)

I'm a bit iffy on Catwoman, but then again there have been films that I've been iffy about before they came out, and they wound up being blockbusters!....Well it hasn't been that many...:D.

I think the producers chose Halle Berry for not only her amazing looks, but I look at her casting as a throw back to one of the earliest Catwomen, Eartha Kit, whom I loved on the old live-action Batman series.

I will admit I like the whole dominatrix look that they have going on with Catwoman, and I'm sure I'm not the only one ;).

But to predict a movie will be a sucess without getting a glimpse at the screenplay (Many of which I've seen) is rather difficult, so maybe Catwoman will prevail, we'll have to see. :)

It's a LEATHER bikini! Duuuuh! Even *I* understand the reason for it.

Mel's okay, Blu. I can still understand what he says. That other one needs to spit the marbles out of his mouth and retire... like 20 years ago! He's like the Sweedish chef with grey hair, mushy gut, and wrinkles.

"Yessshhh... I sfffrrrfskhkahrrskedrrshk. Rrrshk. Ffff.

That's kinda like saying a fat version of Rush Limbaugh or a short version of Danny DeVito. ;)

I loved the original version of The Manchurian Candidate with Frank Sinatra. This new one looks like it's worth the money to go see but I don't think it will hold a flame to the original.

DUH ;) I know its The Sixth Sense ( not the Fifth Element...I See Patterns)

I put that because small African children now recognize that phrase...

I thought signs was an AWESOME movie...an Alien movie with spiritual undertones...never done like that before...and yeah, the Hand got EVERYBODY!

Catwoman...I think will suck...other than obvious eye candy...Its supposed to NOT be based on the Batman character...yeah..ok. :D

I must admit while I dont care for Harry Potter, this is starting to look like a good one...

Still "stickin" with Peter Parker, though....what can I say...Im a web-head. :)

I understand it, too...same as I understand why we have shows on TV now like Survivor and Fear Factor and Real TV. Bleh. The Entertainment industry is just lowering itself to the cheap thrills and laughs and appealing to the sexual drives of its viewers to gain ratings. No word exists how I feel about these shows that I can say on these boards ;)

They may as well just have Catwoman naked. And her cat-call should be a sexy moan. It's a shame they're hiding their true intentions with a few inch strips of leather.

Rant over :D

The hand didn't get me because I knew *something* was coming there, so I was prepared. What got me was the reflection of the alien in the TV screen at the end. ;)

I've become a fan of M. Night Shyamalan, so I'm looking forward to The Village most. I'll also try to see The Day After Tomorrow and the new Spidey and Potter flicks. I love a good King Arthur flick, but I'll wait to see what kind of reviews that one gets.

And hopefully, *next* summer will mark B5's big screen debut. :D

The green guy and his crew raked in over 104 million over the weekend...coming in second for the best opening weekend to whom....Spiderman (of last year...114 million)

It is definitely on, now...will Harry get potted...will the wall crawler lose his grip? Stay tuned..to this thread for more updates ;)

Ok, he is getting harder to understand, I'll give you that Huff....and if you want a good laugh..pull up some of the old SLN spoofs of Connery doing Jeopardy. Watching can just hurt you.

Then again....look at Troy..it was really hard to overlook the Scottish accents from several of the guys that had also been in Braveheart....

Ahem. I'd also like to point out that Shrek 2 has eclipsed the first Spider-man movie (According to studio estimates) already, before even going into this weekend. And the movie isn't losing steam. Some say it might even jump up a bit in the top ten list due to the 4th of July weekend. I mean last week it made $10 Million at the box office! That's just crazy for a film that's been out for 6 weeks already.

I just wanted to note this because a movie that has a big opening it's first weekend doesn't meant anything :mellow:. (Look at the Last Harry movie...it took a nose dive after the opening weekend..)

I'd also like to note that Spider-man 2's opening was only a million more than what it was two years when the first one came out, not to mention that this all depends on how well the film does in the long run, but, by the looks of it, I can safely say that Shrek 2 will be the top grossing film of this summer. :P

Here are some box office numbers, compliments from the fine people at BoxOfficeMojo.com:

Domestic Grosses(As of July 1):

5) Shrek 2: $404,280,000

6) Spider-man: $403,706,375

44) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: $219,113,000

??)Spider-man 2: (Weekend estimates pending, but likely to top $100,000,000)

Worldwide Grosses, in the millions, (As of July1):

2)LOTR Return of the King: $1,118.5 (I'm always just so proud to post this :P)

10)Spider-man: $821.7

25)Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: $540.3

32)Shrek 2: $485.3(Hasn't really gone fully global yet ;))

??) Spider-man 2: ?? (Not sure about this one, gonna take a week for me to hear anything)

Not sure how Spiderman 2 will do either, but from what I heard, it's one of a few sequels better than the first, so I think it'll marvelouslly this summer. :mellow: I'm going to add to that total when I see it soon.

Really John..I never wanted your title... :P

I was just glad that Spidey did so well..I actually havent been able to see it yet.. ;)

I did know that LOTR had toppled SPidey from last year..and rightfully so...since that movie was.......INCREDIBLE! But...it opened on a Wed...which even approaching a holiday weekend..isnt as big as a Friday..but I honestly dont thik it will matter...the buzz on the sequel is....its better...

As for Shrek II, I was a little disappointed...I mean it was funny..I just would have liked more from Puss....in Boots. :P

Anywho..excellent points all around...we will know Tues what the pace will be...

Keep those movie seats filled... :P

Keep those movie seats filled... ;)

LOVED Spiderman II. The pace was better, the villian was better, the effects were better, the story was great. Hell, even the opening credits were better! And I liked the first one, lol. Okay, the solution to the fireball was total b.s., but I'll give 'em that.

Spidey has my vote so far. ;)

...I liked Spidey, and I was disapointed at the same time.

About half the movie focuses on his quitting being spiderman, something he does at least three times in the comic book series over the years. And their running the villians different then the chronological order...but, most importantly...

The way they ended it, it looks like their setting it up for a third one, and end it there!!!!!!!

I swear to god, if they do it like that, I'll just nuke Holly Wood.

::gets arrested by FBI:: Patriot act...

Anyways, not to blow the plot of 2 for those that havent seen it, if they do make a 3, with the obvious villian, (you know if you saw the end, and yes, they did duke it out in the comics) we'd be missing a ton of villians, just to name a few...

Venom, Carange, Vulture, The Hobgoblin, The Kingpin, Shocker, Hammer Head, Kraven, The Lizard, Mysterio...

(And thats not even all of them....)

He was, but the Kingpin was known in the Spider Man cartoon series.. (the mid 90s one) as one of the principal Spider Man villians. (only this Kingpin was white, and wore all white :D )
