For a long time, many have sat at a sim and asked "Where the heck are we anyway?" Where is the Belorso star system? Is it near Earth? Vulcan? Are there any important systems nearby? Is it possible another ship/sim is in the same area?

 

To find the answers to these questions was difficult to say the least. Normally only a passing reference might be made in someone's log, nothing specific enough to really know where the mission was taking place. Well, the Star Trek™ Simulation Forum is pleased to introduce a new website feature that might just help answer some of those questions!

 

We are pleased to introduce the STSF Interactive Galactic Map.

 

This Macromedia Flash section of STSF.NET will be updated several times each month, with notices posted to the boards when appropriate. The map features the most current information from STSF advanced sims within the Alpha, Beta and Gamma Quadrants. This visualization is based on numerous sources, the most important being the Captain's of STSF sims! It includes most major star systems within the Trek universe, many known Starbase locations and presents the current location of most advanced sims within the fleet.  ;)

 

At present, this feature may be accessed via one of three ways:

 

• First, via the STSF Schedule
   
  
• Second, via a visit to the thread posted in the board. Updates will be announced in this folder when they are conducted.
   
  
• Third, via a bookmark to: http://www.stsf.net/map/
   
  

The map requires the Macromedia Flash Plugin, version 5.0 or later. This feature is compatible with users using dial-up and high speed internet connections. Screen resolutions of 800x600 or higher are recommended. Directions for use can be found by clicking the giant ? in the upper right hand corner of the map.
