Hey there,

Inventory of what is behind the Great Wall Of GM:

  • Doughnuts

  • A Coconut Bra & Skirt

  • The "How To Be A Cabana Boy" Manual, Version 2.0

  • "How To Run A Sim For Dummies" Guide, Recently Rented By A New GM (who will remain nameless for today)

  • Dac's Intergalactic House Of Shoes

  • Pandarian House Of Cadets, Open 24 Hours

  • Budgetary Reports Regarding Recent Decrease In Academy Deaths, Marked URGENT

  • Petition To Remove The Word "The" From A Website

  • The Letter Q

  • Some Box No One Has Opened Since The Forum Was Launched

  • A Half Empty Box With Patches Titled "Rebel Alliance 2002".

Seems to me that you might need to add something to that list of yours

::Cough "Members Suggestion Box" Cough::

Thank you

Cheatle

Hey why isn't there a "Member Suggestion Box" It could solve alot of problems and maybe stop a little interinal bickering.

::Drops suggestion into "Member Suggestion Box" oops forgot I just suggested that::

Here's the link to the member suggestion box:

Member Suggestion Box - Click Here

Also... I don't see this discussion as bickering. It's just questions being answered. As I've said before, if there is anything I can do for you, my private messages and e-mail is always open. :) Each person who is involved with the running of STSF care about the forum and about the members. If you ever need a virtual hug, just send me a PM. hehe

I PMed the webmaster once asking if he could add more smileys to the boards and he told me I was ugly and I smelled bad.

OK..fair enough...perhaps bickering was too string a word overall...however, I think you can agree there have been some....really strongly worded posts of late..not necessarily in THIS thread..thats all I was saying...

censorship..bad

free speech...good

;)Oh...Yeah...I hit 100...WOOHOOO!

Well as Vex recently voiced....I personally don't care what the GM's are doing behind the scenes. As long as I'm happy with STSF I'm staying here. I'm sure the GM's have peddled around several ideas that have never seen the light of day, so I say, let them do their jobs and all of us should keep on simming :)

The issues from the GM point of view is:

Free speech... good

Personal attacks... bad

advertising other sim groups...tacky

Going WAAAY off topic... confusing, let's pause and try again

Well said, John. Well said. When the GMs say "They're working on it", it means They're working on it. You really shouldn't take stuff like that seriously. STSF has grown alot since I first joined, all of it for the better. (maybe except for these new smilies, I like the old ones better :)) So, whaever the Gms have up their sleeves, I know for certain it's for the good of STSF and its members. So, echoing John here.. let's just let them do their jobs, and continue on simming.

Regarding topics being closed and removed... When posts are moved, they're never really deleted. They're moved into a hidden forum. During the past year, we have had a total of 21,572 posts made to these boards. Of those 21 thousand plus, only 101 posts have been locked and removed. That means less than 0.5% posts are removed from the site.

The MAJORITY of those 101 posts as I glance through them are either MAJORALLY off topic posts (such as abortion debate that got out of hand), spam posts (join my new Star Trek RPG), or duplicate posts.

I'd like to think the people who have access to the board's tools are pretty open and fair with they're use. If you think a thread you have posted in was closed unjustly, please let me know. I'd be happy to look at the thread and discuss it with you.

And regarding strong words and bickering being posted... if someone is posting something you feel is inappropriate, please click the REPORT button (see below for image) and let us know.

We will deal with each situation on an individual basis. The GMs have tools at they're disposal to warn, moderate, and ban individuals who feel they can only cause trouble on the forums. But as you most likely have already seen, we're not folks who go around every chance they get warning people or banning them. In fact, we have yet to EVER actually ban someone from the boards.

My door is open if anyone has any questions at all regarding STSF that I can help with. I just ask that you remain civil, and keep the tone here on the boards in a positive light. The boards are meant to be a place for people to enjoy themselves. Each of us are people that contribute to this virtual home. So don't litter it up. LOL

Couldnt agree more, A9...I actuall ytold someone that was sorta advertising that it was bad form. And I didnt mean you guys were censoring..just that I really had no right to determine good or bad..if that makes sense :)

In a way, the title of this thread reminds me of the time in high school I snuck into the faculty restrooms.

Their walls were covered in grafitti too.

And as we said..."We're working on it."

Please note our most recent stunning event...

PLEASE WELCOME STSF PRECIP

Please join us in welcoming our newest Gamemaster to the forum, STSF Precip!!! Some of you may have seen him completing his training recently with Dac and Moose and now he's out on his own! He is also our first GM to have started with STSF as a cadet and worked his way right up through "the system." Keep your eyes on the schedule for his appearance in an academy near you! Welcome Precip!!!

Stun? STUN!? Blu, I told you to set it on "kill" or just forget about it. Remember what they said in "Blazing Saddles" - Don't shoot him, you'll only make him mad.
