Tactical Officer Cheatle

 

It was a normal day until we got our mission briefing. We the U.S.S. Janus were supposed to go to the Ugluk system and pick up a "Top secret package." Shhhhh don't tell anybody im writting this though I will get in trouble this is a "TOP SECRET" mission. Any ways we were just leaving the Bajoran wormhole in route to the Ugluk system which is near the Dominon Neutral Zone when I over heard the Captain <STSF_Jorlis> say to the XO <A1088> "They certainly didn't provide much in the way of details," then Ops <Ens_Zaphod> asked all stations to report in. So i did then I went back to taking scans of the surounding areas.

 

Helm <Tovan> then chimmed in with " 2 minutes until we get there," i was ready for anything, but my stomach was starting to hurt and its not a pretty site when my stomach gets upset (or a pretty smell). Well we were almost there when i started to take last minute scans and look over some reports from the Dominon neutral zone when the Captain tells me to report anything I find. I told him that there was nothing that should harm us there at least from latest reports.

 

Then we scanned a Romulan Cloaking device floating in space. I believed it to be a trap at first and i expressed my opinon to the Xo and told him that we should scan it before we beamed it on the ship. So I did and I found it to be safe yet scans were some what inconclusive. After it was beamed aboard we recieved a focused beam transmission from inside Dominon space. Ops went over it again and again until all that he concluded was it was highly consientraited transmission. I then started to scan the area for any in-coming vessels there were none but i was getting a feelin that this might be the package.

 

Xo then asked if there were any neutrino emitions and i scanned for them there was a small trace of them but nothing to go on. Ops was busy with trying to decode the transmission when I suggested that i scan for a certain frequency that pertained only to cloaked devices. I found none only the one we had aboard. Ops then decivered that it was a Romulan transmission with overlaying Dominon transmission in it as well. I then said to the captain and Xo that maybe we could install the device aboard they took this under consideration. Then i went on to say that i would lend my expertice to engineering if they were going to try to install the device I was told to stay here incase of emergency. I thought to myself I wish I could have helped.

 

Then i believe the captain said something about the transmission being a program so I suggested that we feed it into the cloaking device to see what happens because I had believed that this was the "Package" and the the transmission was the "Intructions." Captain said that this was a good idea, but Ops said something about us blowing up and the Captain responded with something like why would Starfleet try and blow us up. I suggested that we erect a force field around the device just incase but I concluded through a series of scans that it would interfere with the transmission so i told the Captain he trusted that it would be ok but for me to stay on stand-by for the time being.

 

I was waiting with my fingers crossed then I over heard that CENG <Bashir318> was going to erect a level 10 force field around the device before feeding thr transmission. I then directed him not to do so.
