Borg Documentary

I seen it last night, and I've had the Borg music going through my head all day. It's pretty comprehensive already. I know they are planning on more parts to it but I really don't know what else they can add.

Maybe they'll show some real people who think that they were assimilated at one time during their life. ^_^

I actually thought this was overdone. Too much movie and clipshots and not enough supporting information. It's just a compilation and really doesn't provide any new or interesting info.

Hey there,

I for one thought it was intersting. Some excellent work splicing together a good summary of over seventeen years of Borg.

Isn't the borg just getting a little old though? I for one am getting tired of the borg...there's nothing mysterious or creepy about them anymore. They're not the unstoppable threat we used to think they were...they can be reasoned with and will make deals. I liked them better in TNG.

Hey there,

Couldn't agree with you more Vex. To that end, I think Voyager completely destroyed the "species" and "villian." I mean, after all, if one old ship in the Delta Quadrant (who's a destroyer) can destroy almost the entire collective, what threat can they be?

The only neat thing was I did like the First Contact followup Enterprise did. I thought that was an interesting new addition to the entire "story" of the Borg.

They may not be a "super force"... but they can still be a threat like any other species. The Romulans, Cardassians, Gorn, and so on all are not massive super scarey forces... but they can each cause quite a bit of problems if they want to.

One of the things that really sucks is when there is a ALL POWERFUL species/being on a series/sim. Q was handled well, since there were still checks on what he could do. Heck... Q even was powerless for a bit. We don't allow it on our sims, and I don't think they can last long on the shows.

Sure... they can SEEM unstoppable for a while, but EVENTUALLY you learn more about them, how they operate, and what makes them "tick". Once you reach that point, you learn how you can stop them. <_<

You took the words out of my mind. I Totally Agree. It always happens to any species in the series or movie, The Romulans, the klingons, the borg and even Q are no long a major threat, not even the dominion. The writers would have to have pretty bright ideas for another "mysterious" species in order to make the francies live on.

Speaking of the Gorn...why are they always mentioned as a major race in the Trek universe? <_< We've never seen any of their ships, and they were only featured in one episode in TOS.

Kind of like Tholians. Whatever happened to these interesting races.

And what about my favorite, the Pakleds? We saw them in a TNG episode that was otherwise uneventful, they were mentioned in a couple other episodes (including one where they supposedly reassembled Lore), but that was it.

Now that I think about it, reassembling Lore was probably the Pakled's biggest contribution to galactic history, and we didn't even see them do it!
