"Establishing Order"

"Computer, open duty log and being recording...

Just a few days on the job and I'm already surrounded by utter chaos.  We tractored in an old Romulan Probe (for what reasons exactly I'm still questioning) and my officers in conjunction with Science began to examine it and tinker with it.  Something, however, went terribly wrong.  Something we did triggered off a wretched ear piercing sound, which I assume now was some sort of warning system or alarm.

At that point my officers attempted to compensate by counteracting the noise with a frequency from a tricorder.  This action complicated our situation even further as the probe discharged some sort of energy that sent two of my officers flying into the bulkhead.  They sustained minor injuries and had to be treated by Dr. Matthews.

After the energy discharge, the probe began go...what I would describe as completely berserk.  It began discharging energy beams around the cargo bay.  Lieutenant Suvik suggested an immediate evacuation of the cargo bay, and I concurred.  We exited the cargo bay, and eventually evacuated the deck, and erected level ten force fields to keep the probe in place.  This plan, however, did not work.  The Romulan probe exploded causing major damage to the cargobay and its surrounding systems.  The Bridge was able to vacuum the debris out by opening up the cargo bay, however some forcefields were still required to prevent a breech in that area.  It will take my department awhile to fix what has been damaged.  I assume there are multiple relay stations that have been damaged or destroyed. We may even have to reinstall new consoles and panels.  We definitely have our work cut out for us.  How much work hinges on the cooperation of the department and our assessment on the cargobay.

Computer, close duty log and save."
