LtJg Garnoopy Personal Log, 50301.22, Part I

My character is unconsious in a shuttle, so he couldn't have technically recorded this log or the previos part. However, logs are nice to have to know what happened to people and such, so I put this together. It is a kind of log/story. Enjoy!

Lieutenant Junior Grade Garnoopy Personal Log

Stardate 50301.22

I preformed a beautiful landing with the repaired Griffin today, even Lt. Jg. Precip was surprised at my talent, I just seem to have a knack for her. Maybe I should request a posting as a helmsman aboard the shuttle for away missions, that new Ensign McFly certainly doesn’t deserve the spot.

Alas, anyways, while in the shuttle bay, Lt. Jg. Precip and myself received orders from Lt. Cmdr. Roget to prepare the shuttle for a rescue mission. However, I think when Lt. Cmdr. Roget said double, I think she meant quadruple or something like that for a half a dozen people started running around gathering the required supplies for the mission. I had to inform her the shuttle wasn’t ready for battle, she kindly ignored my comment, and I immediately began running Level 4 diagnostics. I was informed I’d be on this mission, to help disable the dampening field, and to make sure the shuttle was in good condition considering she was just completely repaired.

I had Ensign Ganner send all the info he had on the dampening field to the shuttle, which he did promptly. There was a slight fluctuation every 3 minutes as the field did its magic staying up and running. Some quick calculations showed this to be the best time to disable the field and beam the away members out.

I made sure the shuttle’s cloak was online, and all systems up and running. The shuttle was in beautiful shape. We launched nearly instantly, and headed straight down, landing at the best spot to disable the field.

Naturally, this being my first away mission, I would have been nervous, but there wasn’t time. I continually ran Level 5 diagnostics on systems, and had to hang on for Roget’s flying us in so fast.

We landed, and I was given a personal cloaking device, very interesting, I’m going to have to look into these things. I grabbed a phaser, tricorder, and an engineer’s kit and ran out of the shuttle. Lt. Jg. Precip set up an ordinance at one spot, and Roget on another. I ran over to Roget’s and began working on it.

The device would disrupt the dampening field by sending out an energy pulse that would disable the power relays keeping the field up. The pulse of the ordinance had to be perfectly timed to match the fluctuation in the dampening field. I set up the device as fast as I could, Roget standing behind me looking as anxious as I’ve ever seen her. Thankfully, I finished quickly and we had to run, for we had 30 seconds before the energy pulse was sent out.

::snatches back the personal cloaking device:: Darlin' that there little device is property of Security, and I''ll thank y'all to make sure ya remember that.  As for the shuttle bein' up to snuff ... I distinctly remember, Lt, y'all tellin' me that it was good to go.  Don't make me get that little doll, I made of ya, back out again   ::o:

Roget, you have destroyed not one, but two shuttles. This may be the first time you will want to be afraid of a normally kind Garnoopy. :: chuckles ::

And as for the doll, careful, that doll might fight back knowing what you did to the poor, defenseless shuttles. ::D:

::gives Garn a wicked look::  You, were responsible for the repairs.  You, were the engineer that signed off the Gryffn for it's test flight.  YOU said it would handle even better than before. Perhaps y'all shouldn't worry too much about that doll and worry more about me.     ::o:

I said teh shuttle was in perfect condition, that was before you got her hit by enemy fire attempting to escape from the evil hands of Klutzy. ( Every time I think of Kurtz, I get this mental image of Captain Proton and Kaotica from Voyager, funny eh? )   :o
