Hey ,  

  Last night on the sim ( 01-20-03) i am taking responsibility for the death of our some of our crew.. I was the CMO and i didnt perform the task well.  That is the first time and THE LAST Time that i will get ANYONE on the ship killed. I hope that you forgive me , EXPECIALLY KBEAR!!!

Don't feel bad...cadets in the academy have a 5% chance of survival, and if you do the math, that's one in twenty sims.  :o  I can't tell you the amount of times I've been in a ship that's had its fate doomed. :D

Yes... well remember, that the ship wasn't destroyed :o That was the sim that Dac decided to destroy the planet that the Away Team was on..... killed me, too. I saw multiple lights, and they headed right toward me. Then they hit me, and the sim ended (as Dac and the rest of the officers lived to tell the tale) :D

 

So, technically trum, it wasn't your fault :) But I think everyone else knows who to blame it on..... yes, that's right. Garnoop, ah, I mean, well, the new Captain. :)

  Im sorry Garnoopy , but i had a little to many people to care for, with everbody coughing and getting little green bumps.. lol.

    I dont think that i will be trying CMO again FOR A LONG TIME.. I think that i will stick with TAC and CENG !

Hey Trum don't worry about death and the academy..they are both linked together in sort of a harmony...they're  meant to be together...

 

I can't recall how many times I have been a chief of a department in an acedemy and have had my subordinates killed...For some reason I can't recall that speech Kirk gave Savek  in the turbolift regarding the Kobayashi Maru...but it sums up the academys wonderfully..hehe

 

As for this particular academy sim...it was particularly heinous....given crewmembers contaminating eachother and such with green yuckies...Hadn't seen that before from a GM...totally ruthless...

 

Funny some cadets may of survived that one...survival is rare as mentioned earlier in this thread. I doubt Dacotah will spare anyone next time....::starts placing bets.....::

Ever since the opening of Star Trek II: the Wrath of Kahn, academies have been notorious for killing officers.  The famous Admiral Kirk line to Spock, "Aren't you dead?" is an oft-muttered phrase heard after STSF Academy simulations. ;-)

 

That's the great thing about Holidecks.  You can live to sim another day.

ya i supose your right but in anycase remeber dac that paramount allocates only so much funds in the academy training sim so you cant blow up a ship every week or kill off the crew  ::o:

I just want to say that we must have had one great Tactical officer that night, being able to hit garnoopy and the others dead on. At the helm I couldn't keep that ship going any straighter than a car rolling down lombard street! No wait, Voran was the Tactical officer wasn't he? I take all that back...   ::o: (just kidding voran, you did great)

::burns Dac's shoe catalog:: So, while I hold this magazine over an open flame, I wish you all good luck, and to tell Voran that Academy funds are also fake - Holodeck money. You use that during Academy sims. This is why we can afford about 2 new Academy ships every week, and for some reason still not be able to

1) Pay off Fred's Credit Card bill, and

2) Save Aegis.

 

Also, just to serve as a FACT..... ::looks over at GromVik and nods:: Engineering, by far, has the most control. We can even turn off your shoe shiner, Dac! :D
