Trek game I'm working on...

Thought I'd get some opinions on a flash game I'm working on.

 

Its mouse controlled...Trek combat game. You control your ship by the little panel. Here's some screenshots of it in action...

Looks Awesome, Fish-Boy!! Obviously, youve put alot into it. Maybe some greater background matte detail...a nebulae or two...brighter stars...if you have the time.

 

Looks like an awesome game....send me a test version when you're ready to debug... ;)

Completely different game Krax ;) I scrapped the last one because I finished it, played it, and it was awful. Nemesis can vouch for that...I let him play it and he said it sucked ;) This new one is 100% different.

 

As for backgrounds...I've limited the background because its programmed in Flash. While that lets you play it online right away without a download/install (and is also easier to program), it gets bogged down with huge images (like a full-screen nebula). The stars give a good feeling of motion.

 

I'll have it completed and out for beta testing soon...

Ah..oh yeah...How quickly we forget ( I recently switched to Cable) Dial up would be a major pain with Flash....good call.

Whoa it took a day to make Jem hadars smart enough to attack, what can Vex do in a week?! heh heh Cool game. Wonder what the torpedoes look like.

Drumroll please! I finally got the beta finished...which just means its playable. Features will be added to the game when...well...someone comes up with some and tells me to do it ;)

Vex, I went to load your game and it came up with a picture of the Defiant with letters below that saying "Game is Loading...". However, the game isn't loading. I'm not sure what's going on, I have the latest java and flash but the game never moves past this screen.

Here is my comment on your game Vex:

1) Good animation ... for flash

2) Excellent features when hailing others

3) Transporters are cool

4) torpedo hard to aim ....

5) warp is cool

6) pulse firing sound isn't bad but it sound weird eh?

7) good scaling

8) warp is not canon enough because you can still move... "Faster than light, no left or right"

9) funny character faces when talking ;)

10) is it possible to have beam phasers?

11) good power balancing

12) i give it 8.7 overall ;)

Garnoopy there should be a small blue number below the "GAME LOADING" letters...is that changing at all? It should increase from 0 to 100.

I'll see if I can come up with a better way to fire them. I "might" just have them target automatically...but then you wouldn't be able to lead the target if you were moving quickly.

Some of the sounds are just temporary and alot of stuff is soundless that I want to add effect to...they'll get better I promise ;)

I think starships can change their heading at warp speed...not quite sure. If they cant I'll disable the warp steering.

 

10) is it possible to have beam phasers?

 

I dont know ;) I'm working on a plan to maybe add those, but I'm not sure if it'll work right or not.

 

Right now I'm working on enhancing game engine itself to make it easier to improve on it. Right now each bad guy is basically a seperate entity and thats no good (since they all have their own seperate codes then).

I have played his next version, not done by all stretches of the word. It is sooo neat, I can't believe it is his first flash game considering I've seen plenty and this one of the best I've seen. The new features are cool too.
