I have to agree with Marris and Dumbass about Q.

He is not a villian, he is more of a trickster, a mischief maker. ;)

If he had wanted to destroy humanity he could have done

it with the flick of a finger, but he didn't.

He got his kicks playing with Picard and crew, because

Picard was so stuffy, and aloof. ;)

I have just finished reading I,Q, and consider

it an excellent book. I recommend to anyone who

thinks that Q is a villian, that they read the book, and

then see if you feelings about him haven't changed. :)

Wait....if we go by the STRICT villain definition...maybe we should add HAN SOLO to the list...while not Trek...he was most certainly...a scoundrel ;)

This is one of the reasons the old Star Wars movies are better than the new ones. The heros were a farmboy, a smuggler, a gambler, the old man who trained Vader, and Leia (who I can't describe without this post being deleted). Unlikely heros all. This new batch of Star Wars heros don't have much of a blemished past at all (except for maybe Qui-Gon). They just aren't interesting.

Hmm, a tough one there. Hmm.. but I'll go with Berman and Braga..writing Voyager and the first two seasons of Enterprise was just evil. ;)

Well a villian is simply one who opposes the main protaganist. Just like how Osama is a villian to America, but to Al Queda Bush is a villian to them. In the original episodes with Q he was a villian but developed out of that.

Everything he does has the distinct purpose of getting humanity off its ass...

Why the heck are we still riding donkeys in the 24th century?

Hmm... Don't see many transporter accidents in Academy sims for some reason. Wonder why.

Sorry, just had to go for Khan (Even though the deliquent duo are up there.) I am still such a huge fan of ST: II.

And come on, how can you say no to Ricardo Montalban and his big plastic chest..... ;)
