Re: Resources for planned modifications to Impulse and Warp Drive of the USS Excalibur.

As per my discussions with Lt. O’Neal on improving the time ratio of sub-light Impulse Drive System (IDS) and FTL Warp drives. I will lie out the over all design modifications and resources needed for said modifications.

The first resource needed for this project is manpower. With a team of four to five Engineers working with me, the project should take no longer then four weeks. If we used less than the stated amount, the time would increase to two months, which would be a waste of resources and man-hours.

The second resource needed is materials; below is a listing of needed materials:

1) A Plasma Siphoner at 1.9m in length and 3.2m in diameter

2) 2 sheets of tritanium at .7m in length and .25m in diameter each

3) 1 sheet of non-electron bonded duranium at 1.3m in length and .25m in diameter

4) 1 sheet of biaxially stressed tritanium at .9m in length and .25m in diameter

5) 4 rods of electron bonded duranium at 1.1m in length and 15cm in diameter

6) 18m of Magnetohydrodynamic Plasma cabling

The two sheets of tritanium, one sheet of non-electron bonded duranium and one sheet of biaxially stressed tritanium are fused 1.1m from the core of the Plasma Siphoner by electron bonded duranium. Causing reactionary energy revitalization of the Plasma returning to the IDS. The Magnetohydrodynamic Plasma cabling will bring the used Plasma from the IDS to the Plasma Siphoner, then lead it back to the IDS revitalized for use to power the IDS.

This will allow the Excalibur to maintain full Impulse for twenty minutes over current standards. As this does not appear to be an advantage for the cost of man-hours, the total gained IDS velocity is .03c which would count as over three thousand, six hundred fifty hours per stellar year, figuring at added Impulse to be used every two days.

The proposed enhancements to the IDS will not prove useful to Warp Drive Factor. As further testing proves the proposed enhancements would not work as per the IDS, these tests also proved a danger to the Excalibur in combat scenarios.
