Greetings fellow simmers,

I must break from my Vulcan persona and make a confession...I'm JONES'N FOR A SIM!!

Is this common with new cadets, or does this occur only in the elite, er...weird ones? Is there a cure? Not that I want one, just curious as to it existence.

On a side note, a quick thank you to Blu and Apollo and the rest of STSF who have helped me feel most welcome (even if she did break my nose)

Alas, the addiction is all too common among the simming community, and it only gets worse once you graduate to the advanced sims ^_^ Fortunately, there is an interesting substitute drug called The Log. Logs are fun. PM me and I'll give you my AIM name so we can discuss this in further depth :P

Grom, you didn't read what he said. He said "and I thought I was just weird" (italics added).

His being weird was never disputed. The question is does it stop there. ^_^

Meh. That's why, after nearly a year and a half, I've churned out nearly 70 logs between my two characters.

Hey there,

Thanks for calling 1-800-SIM-HELP. We're here 26 hours a day to help you when you can't help yourself. Are you locked away in a closet playing sims more than 18 hours per day? Are you demanding your relatives refer to you by your rank? Have you been fired at work because you told your boss the GM would never ACTION that? Call us. We can help.

Only 70 logs between two characters over a 78 week period? That's only one every other week per character.

Travis, you need to step up to the plate, bud. ;-)

STSF Top Ten Signs You've Been Simming Too Much

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

10. When asked, "Why do you have letters tattooed on your fingers?", you reply, "Those aren't tattoos, they're keyboard imprints."

9. You travel thousands of miles to vacation with your shipmates, and still only know them by their screen names when you get home.

8. You decide to play an albino Andorian, just so you and your character can have the same skin color.

7. You sign personal checks, bills, holiday cards and other correspondence with your character's name or screen name.

6. After months of work, you have made up the entire Gorn language - words, rules of vocabulary, the whole lot. You are bilingual, and can now speak fluid Gorn. Your friends stare at you strangely, and no one will sit on the same side of the table as you.

5. You can recite, verbatim, every single Rule of Acquisition.....but you can't remember how many kids you have.

4. You've been surviving so long on chips, pizza and Coke, that your body now contains more plastic than your keyboard.

3. Your Vulcan character has had a meaningful, emotional relationship within the last six years - and you haven't.

2. Your "If I won the lottery" plans involve the following: (a) building a really cool Star Trek house, or ( hiring actors to play aliens so that you and your friends can sim for real.

1. You are wearing your best fleet uniform in the pictures on your drivers license and passport

Marris, might I remind you as a Vulcan I am somewhat telepathic. My 1/4 betazoid DNA heightens those abilites...I sense that there could be more to your invitation than meets the eye.

Its not nice to pick on newbie cadets... :P

OK, at some point that means a full Vulcan mated with a full Betazed.

How the heck did THAT happen?
