The Manticore was investigating a black hole when it was pulled

into a temporal displacement field and finds itself 5,000 years in

the future, in orbit around an Earth with no living creature on it.

We have been here for five and a half years now and have set

up "camp" on the surface while we fabricated Deuterium. Our

warp core was rebuilt from scratch and is running well. We must

return to our time and stop our flight here as we now know that

our flight into the future had destroyed all life in the sector. The

return has become a moral imperative for some - and a reason

to stay and start again for others.
