The Manticore was investigating a black hole when it was pulled

into a temporal displacement field and finds itself 5,000 years in

the future, in orbit around an Earth with no living creature on it.

We have been here for five years now and have set up "camp"

on the surface while we fabricate Deuterium. It has been two

years since our twice-destroyed warp core was rebuilt from scratch.

It has also been two years since we discovered that our very flight

into the future had destroyed all life in the sector. Now the return

has become a moral imperative for some - and a reason to stay

and start again for others.
