I have to side with the wait awhile thought process. Voyager, ended WAY to soon...DS9 blew (sorry DS9 fans , no offense) it was like Mall Rats..in Space. It didnt DO anything for 2 or 3 seasons...

Maybe a Starfleet Academy show..start from scratch..build the characters..then move to the big screen..sort of...90210.71

IT COULD HAPPEN!

Oh, man, that's the gutter.

Clerks and Dogma were funny as hell, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back was OK, Chasing Amy was so-so. Director Kevin Smith (aka Silent Bob) felt compelled to publicly apologize for how bad Mall Rats sucked. (The kid on the escalator and Silent Bob as a Batmanish character were kinda funny though.)

Hey there,

Actually have to say the reverse. Voyager should have ended several seasons before....that or started with Season 4. The first three seasons had no major character development, shallow plots and an almost complete lack of continuity. Deep Space Nine had enough material to move on for another season and was very rushed in Season 7.

As for a "Starfleet Academy" series, if such a thing did take place it would probably mark the final incarnation of the franchise.

Has anyone noticed that the Spock from TAS looks younger than Spock from TOS even though it supposedly takes place afterwards?

DS9 Marathon on Spike April 5, at noon. :P

Voyager on the other hand...was crap..all seven seasons pretty much. The writers never quite understood that when you're churning out crap and want to stop churning out crap, you need to change what you're doing and do something different..not just churn out more crap in a skin tight silver cat suit.

I would have tuned in for a Janeway death scene.

Hey there,

No, that's been my held opinion of the show forever. It had great promise but the first three seasons had nothing. It wasn't until the end of Season 4 that the show started to actually have some solid writing and consistency. Two easy examples. First, exactly how many shuttlecraft did this "destroyer" styled ship have? Second, I still have a hard time holding that one Borg cube can destroy an entire Federation fleet...twice...but one sole resource deprived small ship can destroy more ships than I have fingers? Eh. ^_^

 I am SHOCKED! Im a newbie. Im supposed to do dumb stuff...but you...an out and out attack on a defenseless, syndicated trek genre... :P Is this what we have become...*sniff, sniff*

Wait a minute, did you SEE that skin tight silver cat suit...Borgtastic!

Janeways chain-smoking voice and original bun being annoying..I'll give you.

But if it will make everyone feel better, I will watch the spike marathon with "new" eyes. Maybe it will be better, this time. I just think in order to Boldly go...you have to go..not sit and wait for the prophets to ruin your day...thats just me.

The introduction of fierce new enemies was cool. See, I said something nice. ^_^

I prefer to think of it as bing vocal about a different view point. Not doing dumb stuff ; ) The trick is learning when to keep your mouth shut, and when to open it wide and insert foot, or oponents behind, whichever you prefer.

I was never attracted to Seven of Nine, the "Actress" who played her or the cat suit.

Well heck, if I was a starship Captain stranded in the Delta Quadrant with no one looking over my shoulder I'd be a chain-smoking fool!

Hey there,

I thought the addition of Seven of Nine to the cast of Voyager was...how shall I say...poorly done? I mean, you want to talk about a lame gag for ratings....

As for Deep Space Nine, now don't get me wrong...I think the show had issues. For example, the entire "Prophets" thing really went into far left field for me. In addition, I didn't like the concept of having to wars back to back. I mean, this was supposed to be a vision of the future we all want to be a part of...right? ::shrug::
