Okay, just becuase I am curious; and not because the BB twins are talking about another one (we can only hope that they get replaced before the next movie :) ) What series would you all like to see them use?

Honestly I think they should wait a while before the next movie.

You didnt list TNG though. Voyager has no movie possibility because the ship got back home and its captain is now an admiral and the crew is all split up. DS9 same problem, crew is all split up and they've finished all their plots. Enterprise doesnt have the fan base yet.

TNG crew has more stories because they never were based on "soap opera" plotlines like the last few seasons of DS9 were.

Then again it was nice in the first movies where everything had a different plot but it was all tied together somehow in a larger sequence of events. And we just haven't seen enough of the Enterprise E.

That would be choice five then...

Yes well from what we have been told...TNG is a dead duck; and thier crew is now split up too--or dead.

The Nemesis coasters are even better than the AOL coasters. :)

I really don't think Trek can pull in the cash to pay for a movie...especially right now. I'm with Vex, Trek should take a break from the movie industry. I never really liked the movies as much as the shows anyway. :) I mean, Insurrection was like a normal two part TNG episdoe crammed into one movie.

Maybe Paramount should take a page from the Battlestar Galactica incarnations and Stargate SG-1. Start with a successful movie with a new ship, new characters, new plot, etc. and THEN work it into a new series.

What about the Titan? Sort of a search of Spock thing too with Data, I mean its the perfect set up for it, data downloading himself is like Spock with the mindmeld to Bones.

I also agree with the majority that Paramount should stop making Star Trek movies for awhile. Though if they do decide to make one, a Titan movie would be kinda cool to see. I agree with you there, man.

Count me in the "no movies for now" group. "Nemesis" was essentially a box office failure. Another one of those could be more damaging to Trek's future than a lack of a movie ("if nobody's going to pay to see Trek, why not just cancel it?"). I'd rather they wait until they have an audience demanding a new movie.

In response to Seiben and Nemesis... I'm kind of hoping they don't repeat the ST III plot for Data (although it looks like they were setting up for it in Nemesis). I'd like to see some totally new ideas and plots. That may mean waiting until Enterprise has found its footing. (Wouldn't a birth of the Federation movie or mini-series be a great end for the series?)

If I want to see rehashing of old plot devices, I can always watch Star Wars.

I think it might be interesting to do a generationsy type movie with the TNG characters that are left, but also make it with DS9 and Voyager...and maybe Enterprise...I have it right here!

The movie would be set just after Nemesis. The Enterprise-E is and the crew are having some down time. ...Some thing happens to Enterprise and Admiral Janeway sends Voyager and the Defiant to help them defeat the enemy...(It could be the Xindi). The Titan just happens to be docked on DS9 and the story goes on...

The Crews of the ships might be as follows:

USS Voyager -

CO: Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Back for old times sake)

XO: Commander Chakotay

CSEC: Commander Tuvok

CENG: Lt. Cdr. B'Elanna Torres-Paris

HELM: Lt. Cdr. Tom Paris

OPS: Lt. Harry Kim

CMO: Dr. Alyssa Ogawa

CSCI: Seven of Nine

USS Titan:

Acting Captain: Capt. Picard

XO: Riker

CNS: Troi

CENG: LaForge

CMO: Crusher

OPS: _______

CSEC: Lt. Worf

USS Defiant:

CO: Capt. (Provisional) Kira Nerys

XO: Lt. Ezri Dax (Acting)

CENG: Lt. Cdr. Miles O'Brien

CSEC: Constable Odo

OPS: Ens. Nog

CMO: Dr. Julian Bashir

I Know it's an extremely far stretch. Maybe just something sweet like the defiant and voyager are sent to go fight some bad guys...Period...without the Enterprise...

A stretch indeed. No offense but I think the fans would reject this idea unless it is done VERY well, I mean better than any ST movie or series done to date. It just looks like they would be grabbing anything that *might* work independently, throwing it together, and hoping it *does* work as a combined effort.

That having been said:

Lt. Cmdr Paris - a Lt. Cmdr is a bit overqualified to be a helmsmen (except in STSF) if those are his only duties. Besides, there is no way Paris would stay in Starfleet when the alternative is to be a prise-winning author.

Lt. Worf - Last I heard he was a Lt. Cmdr.

Lt. Cmdr O'Brien - He is currently an NCO, at best a Warrant Officer. Sure he could be Chief Engineer but why would we field promote him to do a job he has already done as enlisted?

Ens. Nog - Last I heard he was a LtJG (even though he never graduated the Academy).

Although, come to think of it, this movie could be quite funny. Can you imagine the different crews totally contradicting each other? Imagine Riker ordering the Titan to Warp 15 and then cutting to Janeway who says Warp 10 is the universal maximum! :)

Hey there,

I have to agree that they need to give it some time before even contemplating a new Star Trek movie. As for what series it will eventually be based on, I honestly think the most realistic could eventually become Enterprise.

Regretfully, I doubt we'll ever see the Next Generation group together again. The ending of the last movie was really horrible in my opinion and I'm sorry to say I doubt we'll ever see any closure for that group like we did for TOS.

DS9 has no real potential. The entire "Sisko as god" concept really destroyed their ending. It's also eliminated any solid future. I mean, the show can't really exist without this lead character and if he returns the plot would be almost too complicated to finish in a two hour film.

Voyager is home. They should have had that final episode last another twenty minutes. Now that's just one of my issues with it, but I won't go any further. Fact is, I think seeing "Admiral Janeway" shows that the crew of that ship are now split up. Heck, some might be in jail and Seven of Nine dissembled by Section 31.

Enterprise will not have enough time, even if it runs seven years, to get thru all it's potential. As it stands right now, the Earth-Romulan War should start sometime around the show's sixth season. That war lasts four years. A year after it's finished, the UFP is founded. See the potential for the movie?

Another remote, and I do say remote, possibility could be some type of plot using numerous crews. It could be done to a limited extent but my question to that would be "What's the point?"

IF this happens beyond something like the Defiant and Janeway cameos the only way I could see it would be as an end to the entire franchise.

I personally would like to see a star trek movie feature an all-new cast. Its kinda of like Babylon 5....well, the Ranger off-shoot at least. I'm surprised they didn't take that anywhere.

Some of my favorite shows are based off of Movies. Especially, Stargate SG-1. I'm sure I'll enjoy Galactica when it comes around.

Star Trek vs Star Wars! It would be the end of the franchise but I bet it would draw a big crowd...hehe

Yeah, I know. I heard the news on Howard Stern this morning. :P I didn't hear his whole anouncement so I thought it was another "We're really going to do it. Honest. We mean it this time.". He predicts Alien will win, but you know it's going to be another tie. :)

Interesting. I'll rent it..probably wont go to see it in the theaters though.

Alien and Predator aren't really silly horror though...like Freddy and Jason were. So silly girls running around in their nighties at midnight through the dark forest. Its a sci-fi horror which makes it, IMO, much better.

It might turn out to be a neat movie if they manage to get a good cast in it.

Well let's face it. The two main characters are going to be played by guys in rubber suits and masks and special effects. Does it really matter who the cast is? :)

Yes. The aliens fighting is going to be interesting...but I will find the movie dull if it isnt built on the humans and their interaction through all of it.

I have seen many animated movies that have become series, so why not do it with a TV show. I have also heard many people suggest the transfering of Riker to the Titan has allowed the Star Trek TNG series to move on, while keeping the characters active...

So why not combine the two. Create a movie where we get to know the characters, how they react to each other, and maybe introduce a new species. But, this needs to happen near the end of Enterprise. When DS9 premiered during the latter years of TNG it allowed for great episodes that made the 6th and 7th seasons of TNG the best of the series' run. So why not have a movie involving the Titan running back to help Enterprise, closing one series and opening another...

It's another far streth...But on this one, the rubber band might stand a chance.

Yeah, I know. I heard the news on Howard Stern this morning.

Wow...Howards a few months behind!! Oh wait, that's right, he can't be as vulgar anymore, so he's actually got to catch up on things and ::shock:: report news and entertainment!! LOL

Actually, they had the posters and trailer out at LOTR Trilogy Tuesday back in December. Must be that the left coast, is in some sort of timewarp!! LOL
