Change of plans?

Tar'Mok transports the away team back to the Excalibur, and changes course to the starbase at Warp 9.9. He does not know where the San Francisco is, but he assumes that they are behind him. Once they are all safely on board, Tar'Mok quickly plts in the course and engages. About halfway there, the Excalibur receives a hail from the San Francisco. Curious, why is the opposition chatting with us? Tar'Mok thought to himself. It was an illogical move on Commander Deveraux's part, giving away the San Francisco's location. Shortly thereafter, Commanders Neo and Zion exit the bridge to attend a meeting, leaving Mr. Semek in command.

Tar'Mok's instincts tell him that something must be wrong. It is the only logical explanation as to why the San Francisco hailed them, and called this meeting. What, the problem is however, Tar'Mok hasn't a clue. For now, though Tar'Mok maintains his course to the starbase as per Commander Neo's orders. A while later, Tar'Mok is ordered to turn the ship around, and head back to Earth. Confirming his suspicions that some kind of problem has arisen.

Tar'Mok and the crew were told little of their change of plans, but probably will be soon. The Commanders appear to be deep in thought, and Tar'Mok can safely assume the wargame ended in a stalemate. Still, like the rest of the crew, Tar'Mok wonders what their new orders are, and whether or not the officers from the San Francisco would resume their posts here on the Excalibur. Though it mattered not to Tar'Mok. It would be another 8 minutes before the Excalibur would make it back. Tar'Mok again, expertly dodged the asteroids and comets with precision and speed. He was getting quite used to the helm position. Even though, he was showing signs of carpal tunnel syndrom from excessive tapping.

He hard some of the crew wonder why they've altered course. He heard responses from a Borg Invasion, Romulans violating the neutral zone, to Cardassians attacking a Federation outpost. However, Tar'Mok knew that the crew's stories were rather illogical. In due time, they will be explained their new orders, and reasons why they were recalled. Until then, all Tar'Mok could do is simply follow Commander Neo's orders.
