Daedalus class

It was around long before enterprise. It held the key to the future designs of all star fleet ships. It had cool names like the archon, essex, and horizon. Primary and secondary hulls and warp nacells.

Personally I like the Spherical hull instead of the saucer section, but then again the saucer section of later ships was sleek looking. Still I'd rather have the spherical hull. And thinking about Cost to commission one in 2366, I bet you could drag one up pretty quick. There has got to be a dozen of them in the salvage yard. Although I am betting they aren't as common as the constitution class. Which would be my second choice of a ship. Third being the Constellation. Not to be picky though. Hey, I'd take the arcos(freightor) if it was offered. :) mmmm arcos... if it hadn't been destroyed I'd take her anyday

Hey there,

Overall I've always thought it was an interesting design. It's a shame we really don't have all that much as far as information goes. Supposedly they were the the "Constitution Class" of their day, but none had survived by Kirk's era.

Yes I love that class. When I heard of the Star Trek Enterprise premise I had HOPED it to be a Daedalus class, but I was disappointed.

The new ship that looks much like it is the Olympic Class medical ship. We only saw it in All Good Thing (TNG) in an 'alternate' future, but I believe its a canon ship.

From what I heard, and have seen the Daedalus class looks to be a pretty cool ship, probably a design well ahead of its time. Hopefully, we'll get to see a Daedulus class on Enterprise, as I'd like to see more of it. :)

I think a sim on a Daedalus class would be a great idea. In a pre-TOS but post-ENT era. Centered around the Romulan War. May be interesting. Thoughts?

Yeah, that'd make a good sim I guess...but, we still have to adjust not having out comforts of the 24th century. Remember, they didn't have good transporters (while they worked, people went crazy...fused together...good stuff) and a host of other problems.

::Smiles:: Yeah, like modernday pioneers...or...is that future day pioneers?

This topic for some reason brings up a funny qoute I heard on Futuramma a while back

"Startrek gives us hope, and reason to look forward to progress...and the future and stuff."

"But Fry! Startrek is set 600 years in the past!"\

ROFL!

Theres only 80 people on Enterprise, if any one died due to a transporter accident, that'd be one less person to have a cooky affair with, or get in fights with Marrines.

Besides, how many times in three seasons have they used it? Like 5?
