Travis Kroells

With Timing like that...

“With Timing like that…”…Kroells’s logs (log 62)

Travis slowly sighed as he left the science lab, leaving Ensign Voran to conduct more scans. Super whales…heh. Kroells hardly bought into the specific idea, but the possibility of an amphibious life form behind the wheel was intriguing. Kroells however, just couldn’t help but laugh at the idea of super whales from outer space…

He sighed again, as he walked up to a turbo lift entrance, not really wanting to use it. But, he should head up to the bridge, inform the Commander of the situation, Kroells would be lying if he said he didn’t want to fly out and get a closer look too…He shook his head, and pressed the button to call it, and stood, head hung some what low waiting.

The sound of the turbo lift door opened, and Travis looked up, to see none other the Kansas looking back at him. He inwardly sighed, not ready to deal with her yet, but on the outside, he put on his most hospitable emotional mask. It seemed like a game of Russian roulette, when ever he talked to Kansas, right now he was on her good side, and he definitely didn’t want to mess that up. Slowly now…take it slowly…

“Small world…”

She looked at him and nodded, “Indeed…”

Travis slowly walked in, testing the waters almost…slowly… “So, where are you going?”

She slowly walked up to him, looking deeply into his eyes, “Shut up.”

Travis would have muttered some expression like a “Huh” or a “Wah?” But he didn’t get the chance, before he could even react; Kansas wrapped her arms around his neck, and pulled him into a passionate kiss. Kroells’s eyes bulged, he was used to expecting the unexpected, but this about took the cake. He couldn’t think, couldn’t move, about 15 million thoughts were raging for dominance in his head right now, and just about as many emotions too. Hurt, confusion, surprise, sorrow, anger, lust, happiness. He was beyond the point were he could even process thought. So long these emotions boiled up inside of him, finally being relised in this one kiss, sensory overload was an understatement.

He broke away for a moment, but was still beyond speech. Maybe he let out a gurgled “Gah!” or something of that sort, but either Kansas didn’t hear, or listen, as she pushed him up against the wall of the turbo lift, and began the game of tonsil hockey again. Seconds passed on, as it continued, and Travis finally managed to gain control of his thoughts. “Was this right; was it even what he wanted?”

Oh who was he kidding, this was what he had wanted from day one! So many times he thought any possibility of being with Kansas was out of reach. And then he’d pull himself one rung higher on the ladder, and she’d just climb another two. Realizing the truth, he gave in, and embraced it, returning the kiss.

Fate was never kind to Travis, and it wasn’t about to start now. His commbadge went of, just when things were about to go further. McLean was on the other end, eager to chat about something. “McLean to Kroells.”

Travis broke away from Kansas for a moment, to answer McLean, but once again, she was quicker on reacting, and swiftly tore off his commbadge, landing on the other side of the turbo lift, continuing the passionate exchange.

Travis tried to object, he really did! There was just the problem that the objecting part of him was being out voted by a large majority. McLean could wait; he was probably just calling to yell at him for something anyway. Besides, opportunities like this are rare, maybe semi rare if you worked with a lot of people.

Fate wouldn’t have its way though, McLean buzzed in again, “Travis please respond.” Travis muffled something into Kansas’s mouth, but not even he knew what he was saying…. The badge buzzed again, and Travis considered stepping on it, before the Captain came through on the comm.

“All senior staff report to the bridge immediately.” Travis moaned into the kiss, maybe out of pleasure, maybe out of annoyance, but he couldn’t ignore this message. With some difficulty, he broke away from the kiss, and bent over to pick up the little badge. Kansas gave him a sort of look, and Kroells smirked.

“Hey, McLean punching me out isn’t a problem, but the last time I messed with the Captain, he shot me.” Kansas looked at him somewhat unimpressed.

“You sure?”

Kroells smiled, if I really wanted out of this little session, I’d make up a better excuse then that. Kansas rolled her eyes, as she began to rearrange her uniform, the lift finally back on his way to the bridge. He sighed, as he too redid his clothing, while trying to give McLean poor excuses as to why the lift ride was taking so long. He smiled at her one last time as the door to the Bridge opened.

Much to his dismay, almost every one that was supposed to be there was. Hopefully McLean hadn’t noticed him and Kansas step off…Kroells was still tired, even after the events in the turbo lift…he wasn’t in the mood to dodge around McLean’s questions…He shook his head, and smirked at Kansas as he walked off over to McLean and Commander Ridire…

“With timing like that, who needs a clock?”
