“Lazy days on Future Earth”…Danny’s logs (log 1)

 

 

 

Danny winced, and let out about the biggest yawn he had ever produced. Last night had been the best he ever slept, ever! After a month of being stuck on this planet, he had finally gotten a good bed! For the first time in a long, long time, he woke up refreshed. He got up, put on some clothing, and walked out of his much larger tent. He winced in memory of his first night here, and waking up…with the tent as a blanket…

 

He finished tying his boots, and walked out into the camp site, pants, and undershirt on. Pretty much signaling you didn’t have to work today. Danny walked into the large tent pitched up, acting as a small eatery, and café, if you could call it that…He went over to the replicator, and made some pancakes and bacon, with some orange juice, and sat down, ready to start the day.

 

He cut off another hunk of pancake, and placed it in his mouth with the fork, savoring the syrupy taste. Mmm…Sweet, sticky…delicious…spectac- “Hey Danny!”

 

Kroells nearly choked from the scare Sten gave him, as he and Parker sat down at his table with a fresh plate of food. Danny finished his last bit of bacon as they sat down, and gave Sten a death glare… “You really want me to die by choking on a pancake don’t you…?”

 

He laughed, and mock punched Danny, “Well it would look good on your record…besides, I know the Heimlich.”

 

Danny sighed, “Yeah, that’s what really scared me…Besides, don’t you have a duty shift today?”

 

Sten nodded, “Yeah, half shift though, we don’t start for a couple more hours…speaking of that, how are you planning on spending your day off?”

 

Danny chuckled, “I plan on sleeping for half the day, and eating poorly replicated food for the other half”

 

Sten smiled as he finished the rest of his food, “Well that’s always a popular option. Well anyways, we should go get ready for another fun day on future Earth, see ya latter.”

 

Danny nodded, and watched Sten and Parker get up, waving good bye to them both. Danny sighed, and put away his plate, and walked the camp for some time, stopping to chat with people, and generally enjoying his lazy day…

 

Danny went back into his hut…and laid down with a good book…He pondered for a moment, realizing that, if they got back to the past…he wont have read this stuff…he’ll have to wait five thousand years to find out the end of to kill a mocking bird…

 

Danny sighed…temporal mechanics gave him a head ache.
