Hey there,

While rumors had been running around for over a month, today the Sci-Fi channel announced it will indeed turn the four hour mini-series "Battlestar Galactica" into a series, starting production with thirteen episodes (click here for the story, followup remarks by Ron D. Moore can be found by clicking here).

So, going to watch? B)

I'd like to watch it. I'm basically too young to remember Galactica, and I heard it was pretty good. Even though the show looked kinda corny based on the DVD preview commericals. I'm always up to watch new shows and give them a chance. :D (so long as they don't interfere with any of my favourite shows). But sadly, I do not get the Sci-Fi Channel. (which is what I voted for) B) Sounds interesting though

I'll watch it if I happen to be around. Its completely different from the original series, but I saw the little movie and it was interesting so it would definately entertain me.

Well I'll watch for now, but at the first sign they look like they are going to bring back that stupid little robot dog from the original I'm gonna switch over to Enterprise - and you guys know how much I hate doing that!

The mini-series was really good actually. That and I am going to watch any show with this line in it:

"Exscuse me if I didn't recognize you, the last time anyone saw you people, you looked like overgrown toasters!"

But seriously I was hoping they would turn the mini-series into a show...YAY! Something new to watch!!!

LOL, I don't get Sci Fi, so I dont get an option here. I never saw the original, never saw the minseries, probably will never see the 13 episode stint.

Basic programing sucks.

Well have to wait and see if that's true or not Mr. Black :(

Anyways to remain on topic. I did not catch the miniseries of Galactica. I might tune in for the the new show and see if I like or not.

There is still only one show beyond the realm of Star Trek that I've enjoyed watching and that was Babylon 5. I miss it so dearly and hope that we might get an reincarnation of it (Since I keep hearing all these wild rumors.)

But like I said, All sci-fi shows deserve a chance and I'll tune in for support. :)

Well one thing is for sure, Boomer is a lot more attractive in the new version. :(

I'll watch the new series. I saw practically all of the old BSG, and even the dreaded Galactica 1980 (all in reruns). I thought that while it's obvious that the new one owes the original for its basic premise, it seems to be telling a much more interesting story.

Not only that but he went from a middle-aged black male to a young asian female.

It's no rumor. JMS acknowledged on the B5 newsgroup just a couple weeks ago that he's working on a new project. He won't give away the details though. :(

Might just be a computer game or something. :\

Hopefully Galactica's new run at a MiniSeries will be more successful than B5's Crusade. I guess the other pilot from B5 regarding the mysterious Rangers didn't sell. I loved B5 but I don't see anything new coming from it with the exception of a two hour movie event thingie that they have done in the past.

Galactica's Mini-Mini-Series sure was well hyped. And I think the miniseries delivered a good result. Whether or not Galactica will succeed as a series will depend hugely on the writers of those critical 13(?) episodes. Good Ron Moore!

Hey there,

While I really enjoyed Babylon 5, the numerous TV-movies they've made, Crusade and even the "Legend of the Rangers" pilot...I lost all respect for JMS several years ago.

When Deep Space Nine was several weeks away from going off the air, he told numerous reporters "Again, they're just going to copy from me! Blow the station up in a blaze of glory! How unoriginal!". This attitude is something JMS held towards DS9 throughout the show's run and it's something I think he was really off base with. In the end, he ended up being so far off in right field I just can't hold any respect for someone who's that...arrogant.

Well I voted to bring back the original series. Wouldn't it be fun to see what they all

look like now, well except for Loren Greene, whose dead.

I don't think I'd like the whole cast change thing.

I had to vote for the original, because I couldn't vote twice, I don't have the

Sci-Fi channel either :)

As for B5... Bring it back!!!!!! :(
