Game on!

Tar'Mok fresh from his trip in Tuscany, unpacked his belongings in his quarters. The crew of the Excalibur were recalled back to the ship, for a new mission. It was earlier than Tar'Mok expected, but he complied. Tar'Mok wondered how he would actually give the gifts he bought to his friends, then judges that direct transport of the wines to their quarters would be the best choice. He was about to do so, when Capitan J'Cin instructed the crew to proceed to the Cargo Bay 1.

Tar'Mok entered the turbolift and went down to Cargo Bay 1. There he met Trichon and Commander Neo. The Excalibur crew started to file in, and Cargo Bay 1, was getting more crowded. Commander Neo, and Trichon congratulated him on the birth of his new son tr'Con. Word does travel fast. Tar'Mok thinks. He sent a message to Trichon informing him of his son's birth last week. Now, half the crew were congratulating him and offering him cigars. Some were people Tar'Mok hardly even knew. Most of them were Cuban made cigars. Another crewmember gave Tar'Mok a small wooden crate to hold them. Tar'Mok counted fifty cigars in total. He placed the crate in his bag.

Not long after, Capitan J'Cin, Admiral Day and an older looking Vulcan named Sorehl, which Tar'Mok had not met before took centre stage. Capitan J'Cin informed the crew that they would be conducting a war game. The crew would be divided in two, and assigned to two different ships. Tar'Mok recalled the war game conducted by the USS Enterprise-D gone awry when rebel Ferengis attacked the decrepit USS Hathaway. Hathaway commander William Riker and his crew, barely got out of the fight alive. Tar'Mok hopes that a similair occurance will not befall on them.

However, to Tar'Mok's surpise, the Excalibur's opponent, will not be an obselete ship, but a new Soverign class, the USS San Francisco. Almost matching Excalibur "pound for pound". This twist peaked Tar'Mok's interest as this war simulation will pit two of the Federation's finest classes of ship against each other. Their technical schematics are about the same, so victory will depend on the Commanding Officers and the crew. And unlike the Hathaway and Enterprise, both ships have equal advantages, and thus an equal chance of winning the game.

The Capitan tells the crew to apply quckly, and they are also able to apply for other positions as well. Tar'Mok, was profiecient in all positions in Academy training. Tar'Mok's friend Hans Seiben, who is now the Helm/Tactical officer on the USS Republic tought Tar'Mok various bridge positions such as helm, tactical, and operations. He also had training in Engineering. He had even served briefly as an assistant engineer here on the Excalibur, before he was transferred to Science.

After J'Cin dismissed them, Tar'Mok went to his quarters and applied for his desired positions. Tar'Mok wanting to add to his resumes chose positions other than Science, as well. He also wondered where Trichon and Vex would be assigned. Speaking of them, Tar'Mok finished sending his application to Admiral Day and Capitan J'Cin and walked over to a small transporter. He placed three bottles of wine. One bottle each of Brunello di Montalcino,Galestro and Bianco di Pitigliano onto the transporter. "Computer, transport contents to the quarters of Lt. JG Chris Trinecar" said Tar'Mok. The wines instantly dissapeared. Tar'Mok did the same a few more times sending bottles to Chief Xiang, the Capitan, the Admiral, and most of the other Senior staff. He then placed the remaining 6 bottles, two bottles of each wine in a cooler he bought in Tuscany.

Antonio and the cashier of the Tuscan giftshop were quite pleased by Tar'Mok's and the Bolian's purchases. "We're cleaning them out, aren't we?" said the Bolian as he paid for his purchases. "Indeed, Mr. Bolian" said Tar'Mok. Tar'Mok wouldn't know where he would be posted until next week. The prospect interested him. However, until then Tar'Mok would most likely resume his duties as a Science Officer. Tar'Mok looked over some starcharts of the region the games would take place, and look for strategic points or advantages. He also read up on shematics of both sides and became familiar with their systems and capabilities. Though not nearly as enthusiastic about the upcoming wargame as Mr. Trichon, Tar'Mok still felt this training mission will be most entertaining indeed.
