MEDICAL RECORD: Daniel is in excellent health for his age. No outstanding illnesses or chronic health problems are present. Last physical was taken on Stardate 0005.15 for Starfleet academy entrance. Next scheduled physical: To be given at date of assignment, by said ships Chief Medical Officer.

 

ACADEMY NOTES: Daniel, or rather, Danny as most of the students, and in fact most of the faculty call him, has progressed far since his freshman year at the academy. With no real direction, and a stunning disciplinary record, expelment was almost a diffident. However, in the last three years, cadet Kroells has made a major turn around, and was recently graduated. 90th percentile of his class, specializing in warp core dynamics, and technology. I find him to be rash at times, but still obedient to orders. I would say that he will make any engineers warp core run smoother then ever.

 

However, one side note does distresses me. Records show that cadet Kroells has put in for an engineering position on the USS Manticore, which to my recollection is a tugboat/recovery ship. While I have no doubts that he will perform well, such talent seems wasted on such a ship. In speaking with the cadet, I have discovered that he was more or less forced into the position, by his father, Admiral Barry Kroells, executive officer of Starfleet anti piracy agency. Further investigation shows that Kroells’s half brother, Lieutenant Travis Kroells is currently serving onboard the USS Reaent as acting Chief Science officer. The recent news of the ships disappearance is no doubt the logical reason that the admiral would wish his other son, to choose a less, adventurous ship.
