"Quest for the Father"

Chris sat alone in the security office. Most of the crew had taken shore leave while the Excalibur was still in space dock. Chris had volunteered to stay onboard as he had no place to go. He tapped his PADD in a rythmic pattern his mind not on the report but on the conversation that him and LtCdr Deveraux had. He turned around in the chair towards the wall monitor.

 

"Computer bring up the incident report on the Secara 7 Colony."

 

The information flashed on the screen. Most of it he already knew. Secara 7 was a terra forming project that both of his parents had been apart of. A band of Klingon marauders attacked and raided the colony leaving many dead and taking most of the supplies. He followed up with the report from the Klingon side of things and did in fact discover that most of the Klingons onboard had been mercenaries and had warrants out on them at the time.

 

"Computer cross reference the list of warrants with current information on them." The computer brought up the information as he requested. 14 pictures flashed on the screen with known current whereabouts next to them. "Computer eliminate narrow the search by eliminating all Female subjects."

 

"Processing" 2 pictures disappeared. What now he thought. "Bring up any of the files of ones who have been arrested." 8 pictures came up and Chris began to shuffle through the reports, looking for any clues. He read all there statements but only one was of any interest to him. A Klingon named Razak gave a statement about the attack about a young klingon warrior who was among them during the attack of Secara 7. The statement went on to say that this young warrior did indeed take certain liberty's with one of the women of the colony. A few months later the warrior known at K'atarc left the ship after arguing with the captain over as Razak said "the Honor of attacking defenseless colonies, He was seeking true glory of real battle."

"K'atarc of the house of Trulahs. At a young age became a mercenary looking for the glory of battle. He later turned himself in for crimes against the empire. Served time on Rura Penthe during which time he was said to be a model prisoner. During the Dominion war he was given a chance to redeem himself and allowed to join the military. His record was outstanding during the war. Several times he saved the life of his fellow crewmates and captain and quickly rose through the ranks. Upon reaching Captain towards the end of the war he became a figurehead of the military. Sometimes known as K'atarc the Cunning he was not a man to be trifled with. After the war he was given the title of K'atarc'aj or admiral. He is currently still serving as 'aj on Qo'nos."

 

Chris looked at the picture that accompined the bio of the war hero. Could this man possibly be his father? There was only one way to find out.
