A truly momentus occaison!

Tar'Mok and his wife T'Shar spent the last week celebrating the birth of their new son, which Tar'Mok and T'Shar named Tr'Con with T'Shar's family. Tar'Mok named his son in honour of his half-klingon friend Trichon on the Excalibur. Though Tar'Mok found Mr. Trichon to be rather illogical at most times, especially in his troublesome past, Tar'Mok did admire his tenacity and fighting spirit. The Vulcan doctors cleared T'Shar and young Tr'Con for travel so they both decided to travel to Earth to visit Tar'Mok's mother and sister. After bidding T'Shar's family adieu Tar'Mok pressed some buttons and began to pilot the Excalibur shuttle Eternal Vigilence, and headed out of the Vulcan atmosphere.

Soon, the shuttle was running at maximum warp. The space was virtually empty, save for a few civilian freighters, so Tar'Mok was making good time. The little Type-9 shuttle was at it's niche. T'Shar was feeding young Tr'Con on her lap. It would be about three or four more hours to Earth. Tar'Mok heard from his mother a month ago telling him that she moved from San Fransisco to Tuscany, Italy to work as the Chief Research Scientist for the new Galactic Direct Energy location built there. GDE owner Baron Friedrich Seiben (father of Lt. Hans Seiben, USS Arcadia) hired T'Krit -- Tar'Mok's mother personally. He liked the quick and efficient way T'Krit worked on the new matter/anti-matter generators Galactic Direct Energy made in conjunction with the Federation last year.

These new generators have been used on the new Titan, Jupiter and Soverign class starships manufactured, and commissioned this past year. In addition to a much bigger paycheque, and more vacation time, T'Krit and her daughter T'Val were moved to a beautiful, recently rennvated mansion overlooking the Mediterranean Sea located in a small town called Orbetello. The mansion itself is 3000 square feet and was situated on a three acre property. It also has its own private beach. Baron Seiben picked the house out himself for his new employee.

At first, T'Krit said the massive mansion is an illogical choice for just two people, but the Baron reassured them that they will get used to it. "This is a great house. It was built in 1887, survived three world wars and housed some of the finest celebrities. I'm certain you will grow to appreciate it" said Herr Seiben. After looking around, T'Krit found that the massive fields by the house is a suitable place to grow many Vulcan herbs. Soon, the shuttle entered the Sol Sector.

Tar'Mok dropped the Eternal Vigilence out of warp, as he passed the rings of Saturn. Soon, he can see the Excalibur docked at a space station. He wondered if anybody was still on board. Though judging by the crew's reaction when they were informed of the shoreleave, he doubts it. They're all prbably enjoying large pinapple pina coladas on Hawaii's Wikiki Beach. Tar'Mok slows down and receives clearance to enter Earth's orbit. He descends down on Italy, and sees the clear blue Italian sky. They both looks down at the bustling city of Rome, and get bogged down in traffic near Florence. A taxi shuttle narrowly misses them by a few inches, as the inconsiderate driver cuts them off. But ten minutes later, the clear blue Mediterranean can be seen.

Tar'Mok spots the mansion's landing pad and begins to make his descent. The Enternal Vigilence touches down and lands. Tar'Mok opens the shuttle hatch and exit out. They both breathe in the Tuscan air, and feel the cool wind in their hair. It is a pleasant day. About 27 degrees Celcius (80 F). It is sunny outside with large white fluffy cumulus clouds predominating the skies. The wind is about 3km/h from the North East coming from the sea, making it feel more like 22 C. this is normal climate for this region of Earth, and he can instantly see why Tuscany is so popular with many tourists from around the Federation. Also, the cheap rather tasty Tuscan wines from the local vineyards are also a large factor. Tar'Mok surmises. Tar'Mok's mother and sister come out to greet them and the new baby. After the cusomtary Vulcan greeting, they headed inside the house and up to the veranda overlooking the sea.

They chat amongst themselves about Tar'Mok's adventures and T'Krit's new job, over a glass of Vulcan tea. Since it is mid-afternoon, Antonio the head butler suggest they all go to the beach, whilst the staff loooks after Tr'Con. "Indeed, it is a good time of day to go to the beach" says T'Krit. T'Shar relinquishes Tr'Con to the care of the staff, and they all make their way to the beach. They are met by Maria, and Fabio the beach experts, Herr Seiben hired. "Ahh, hello" Fabio says. Tar'Mok scould see various beach equipment strewn outside of a shed. He picks up a sail, attached to a white plastic board, looking it over. "Would you like to give wind surfing a try, Mr. Tar'Mok? It's not hard" said Maria.

Tar'Mok quirked an eyebrow. "And what logic does this 'wind surfing' entail?" he asked. Marie pushed the surfboard into the water, then she climbed onto her own board. "Excercise, and the exhillarint rush" she answered. "Rush? What kind of a rush?" asked a curious Tar'Mok. "You'll just have to get out there, and see" Maria simply said. Curious, Tar'Mok picks up the sail and starts windsurfing. He can see T'Shar and T'val on hover-skis racing above the sea. Tar"Mok found the surfboard to be hard to control. Maria zipped around him, but Tar'Mok lost balanced and fell in the water. "Ms. Maria, how is it possible for you to balance that apparatus?" Tar'Mok asked. "It's simple.. just keep your weight centred and keep your arms as still as possible. Tar'Mok got up on the board again, and spat out some water. He picked up the sail, and soon it caught wind.

Soon, Tar'Mok was moving. The windsurf board gained momentum as it headed straight further into the Mediterranean. Maria and Fabio approached him. "Bueno, Senor Tar'Mok. Now try to turn otherwise you'll surf over to the other side" said Fabio. "It is illogical for me to surf that entire distance. Plus the shore is an extremely long distance away" Tar'Mok stated. Fabio scratched his head in confusion. "Si.. anyways, to turn simply, lean your weight into the direction you wish to go" said Fabio. Tar'Mok did this, bt applied to much weight, and fell overboard into the sail. Tar'Mok struggled to climb into the board, but got hung up in the sail. Fabio dove ito the water and helped free him. "Thank you for your assistance, Mr. Fabio" Tar'Mok said as he climbed into he board. "Remember not to lean too much" said Maria. Tar'Mok tilted his head and picked up the sail.

The wind propelled him in an easterly direction. Tar'Mok wobbled on the board and fell a few more times. " I fail to see how humans can find this amusing" Tar'Mok said indignantly. "Well, It takes practise, Tar'Mok. Nobody gets it right the first time" said Maria. "Indeed" said Tar'Mok pulling himself back on the board. Tar'Mok notiiced a protruding point on the board where the sail should have been. Tar'Mok grabbed onto the prtrusion and looked for the sail. Perhaps it fell off? Tar'Mok thought. "Excussi, Senor Tar'Mok" said Fabio. "But you have your board upside down" Tar'Mok raised an eyebrow. "Upside down? Yes, I was wondering where the sail went" he said. Tar'Mok jumped off the surfboard and turned it around. He can now see the sail, and handle. Tar'Mok climbed onboard and grabbed the sail. The sail caught momentum again, as Tar'Mok kept his balance.

Tar'Mok was now become more profient in "wind surfing". He then shifted his body weight to the right, and soon the board turned with him. Tar'Mok splashed over the waves, and rode over a ten footer. Though devoid of emotions, Tar'Mok couldn't help but feel an exhilirating feeling. He couldn't quite but his finger on it, but it was as Maria said quite a 'rush'. Tar'Mok liked this feeling, and rode a few more large waves. In what felt like a few minutes, a few more hours past. The Tuscan sun was setting over the Mediterranean basking the sea with a beautiful orange-red glow. "Quite a nice place" said Tar'Mok. "Indeed, Tar'Mok" said T'Krit, as they enjoyed dinner of smoked salmon served with some creamy coloured sauce. Tar'Mok also sipped on a glass of white wine made locally in Tuscany.

Tar'Mok found the salmon to be quite exquisite, and the wine was a perfect complement. Tar'Mok and his family were going to visit some Tuscan vineyards tomorrow and attend a wine tasting seminar, where afterwards he would have an oppurtunity to purchase some wines, and Italian cheeses. He would have to remember to purchase some for his friend Trichon and Chief Xiang. As well as the Capitan and Admiral. Tar'Mok based on experience in Ten Forward knew that people drank non-sytheholic beverages and very much appreciated it as a gift. He might even purchase some for himself. Tar'Mok finishes his meal, and soon the four of them entered in the house. They meditated for an hour, then went off to bed. T'Shar slept beside Tar'Mok with baby Tr'Con sleeping soundly in the crib in the same room.

Tar'Mok laid in his bed unable to sleep due to the watery feeling he still had due to his equalibrium not being used to the rocking water. Tar'Mok still felt as if he was standing on the surfboard on the sea.. an intresting feeling to say the least, thought Tar'Mok. But Tar'Mok remembers most the remark Fabio gave him when they were putting away the surfboards. "You did very good, Senor Tar'Mok. Much better than any first timer I remember. But you know, I never thought I'd see a Vulcan windsurfing. I'm glad you liked it, but this truly was a very momentus occaison".
