There was a nice tribute done prior to the Super Bowl. Alos at NASA, they've designated a permanent day at the end of January, as a rememberance for the lost crews of the Challenger, Columbia and Apollo 1, as their anniversaries, all fall within a few days. NASA also indicated that they are including the 2 people lost in a helecopter crash last year, while looking for shuttle debris in these rememberances.

It was a tragic day. A pity it was shadowed by the Super Bowl. The day was still remembered here as the pain was very close to many.

As with the September 11th, and even to some the Assasination of President Kennedy, it will be a day never forgotten as our heroes reached for the heavens.

"We remember our heroes as we reach for the sky. God bless them, and God bless the United States of America."

Godspeed to the crew of Columbia and their families.

I remember the tribute of the Columbia crew that aired on the Superbowl. Though I also did find it unfoertunate that the one year anniversary of the disaster actually fell on that day. I sadly admit that I forgot that the Columbia explosion actually took place on 1 Feb. Anyways, my thoughts are with the families of the crew of the Columbia.
