Captain's Log - SD 0402.02

Captain's Log Captain Frederic Meve

Stardate 0402.02

"Begin recording;

It has now been eight days since Klingon Task Force A-3982 arrived to deal with our unwelcome guests. They have remained in the general area, providing security patrols since Aegis is currently not capable of holding it's own.

Federation Task Force 29 is on route and will arrive day after tomorrow. This follows the arrival of Task Force 67A, bringing with them several engineering teams and required supplies to begin major repairs to the station's hull. Luckily, we do still have two docking pylons operational. Between those and limited transporter activity, we've been able to keep a steady flow of persons.

I have decided to keep all nonessential personnel from moving back aboard. Until such time we have stabilized all of the station's systems, I don't believe it is wise to have two hundred and seventy-five people back in the quarters. This will allow us to also focus on critical systems and not restoring life support systems to decks which normally house guest quarters.

Within the next few days, I am going to order security teams to begin an analysis of the alien ships we were able to salvage. Most are sitting at the former location of the now destroyed dry-dock. Since there have been no further reports of alien attacks within Cardassian space, it seems the force was faced was the culmination of the threat. The outstanding question is why.

I also plan to have medical begin an analysis of the dead humanoids we've recovered. While they look mostly human, they clearly are of a race no one has seen before. This raises questions as to their origins and even further complicates the question as to their motives.

In the meantime, I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. I am rather certain the fallout from this entire mess will be a length one. Where it will stop, I can't imagine...though I do have a pretty good idea.
