The Manticore was investigating a black hole when it was pulled into a temporal displacement field and finds itself 5,000 years in the future. The Earth shows no evidence of any advanced, or even modern, societies and no humans or other sentient beasts can be detected. The scans of the "cities" show stone and earthen structures overgrown with thousands of years of neglect. To make matters worse, the stresses of the trip created a damaging EPS feedback wave from the Warp engines, causing further damage to the ship and leaving us running on a surprisingly low supply of liquid Deuterium for all systems. Having less than a week of power left, we are abandoning the ship and leaving only 4 people behind to repair the damage while the crew goes planetside and tries to fabricate Deuterium.
