Spencer picked up a padd off the main science console on the bridge, and turned around to face Garnoopy. "So, we don't get to take a nice earth vacation like the rest of the crew huh?"

 

Garnoopy tapped the science station next to Spencer, "I doubt that it'll be a great vacation for them. I'd much rather be up here, on this powerless tug." He smiled and tapped, bringing up the ship schematics.

 

"Its pretty powerless alright. Who else is staying from your department?" Spencer said while tapping his padd.

 

Frowning, Garnoopy began to shut down systems one by one on the ship schematics to see what power could be cut, "Lieutenant Betty will be remaining behind from engineering. She's skilled and tough, a valuable asset this mission. I assume you've already picked someone from science?"

 

Starting to make a list of needed science equipment, Spencer replied, "Indeed, Lieutenant Junior Grade Amy. She more skilled in temporal mechanics than most of my other officers, which should prove valuable."

 

Garnoopy nodded, "Perhaps once systems are repaired we can go home. For now we need to figure out how the four of us are going to survive."

 

Nodding, Spencer leaned over to take a look at the ship schematic Garnoopy was working on, "We will be powering down everything but deck 1 and main engineering, correct?"

 

Pointing to the schematic of the ship with everything except deck 1, main engineering, and turbo lift 1 powered down Garnoopy said, "Yes. Life support, gravity, replicators, it all goes offline except in those areas shown."

 

"Well, we will be needing a sleeping area, a storage area for supplies, and then our work areas. That last item will be in mainly the bridge and engineering. What do we use for the others?" Spencer said.

 

"Food stuffs can be kept in engineering and the ready room. We'll convert the conference room to a sleeping area with four beds,” Garnoopy said while looking over the floor plans.

 

"Sounds good. We probably ought to put a portable sonic shower up somewhere as well. Perhaps the ready room would be a good place for that as well? Unless of course we want this place to start smelling like a labor camp." Spencer smiled while leaning back and turning his focus back to his padd.

 

In spite of the situation Garnoopy chuckled, "No, we definitely need a sonic shower. Oh, " he said, remembering, "We'll also need four EVA suits. In case we need to travel around the ship."

 

Nodding Spencer said, "Good, good. I'll also need to get some science equipment out of the lab and set them up somewhere. Can I do that in engineering?"

 

"Of course, we'll integrate the systems directly into the engineering EPS power relays" Garnoopy said.

 

“Alright, I’ll get started on moving the equipment as soon as we are done here.” Spencer said while marking that item off on his list.

 

Thinking, Garnoopy inquired "Lieutenant, how much do you know about engineering systems?"

 

“Not a huge amount, although I was on the stealth team that helped repair the Manticore back when the Romulans had control of it. I learned some about it out of necessity then, why?”

 

Garnoopy frowned, "We have a lot of damage on this ship, it may be required for you to help with repairs of systems before we'll be able to implement any plan that will get us home. I hope you're prepared to take up jobs from other departments at points. We have a whole ship to run, not just engineering and science systems."

 

Spencer looked up and sighed, “I know, and I had already figured on doing cross-department work while up here. I should be able to handle any needed bridge functions fairly easily. I’m afraid you won’t find me near as efficient in engineering as you are likely used to your engineers being though.”

 

"Well, I'm sure we'll muddle through somehow. I doubt anything overly problematic will occur while we're up here." Garnoopy tapped, finishing a download of information into a padd, "If a crisis arises we'll find a way to deal. For now, I have our current plan to pass along to the Admiral."

 

Spencer nodded and smiled slightly, “Let’s hope he doesn’t object to our using his ready room for storage and a shower.” Spencer paused slightly before continuing, “Well, if we are going to do this I’d better get started with that science equipment. Let me know if the Admiral requests any changes to our plans.”

 

Turning, Garnoopy said, "I'll ensure that the supplies we need are moved to the location we need them at. Let's meet in an hour to review status."

 

“Agreed, we can meet back here on the bridge. I’ll see you then.” Spencer said as he stood from his seat and started to head towards the turbo lift.

 

Garnoopy looked back down at the information on the panel, then turned to head over and make preparations for the crewmembers who would soon be leftovers of an abandoned ship.
