hey all its your friendly vulcan comming back from the past i was wondering if i am required to take the academy sims all over again?....i've already graduated(not sure if fred remembers me) and am quite experienced in live chat sims just curious?...just wanting to know so i can get back in the swing of things! thanks all!

I do believe players that have been gone for six months or more and required to go through the academy process once again. The Council can correct me if I am wrong. The reason is that we want to be sure that players who have been gone for a significant period of time can still demonstrate the basic skills they showed on their first graduations.

You are correct, Mr Gromvik. After 6 months, the rules say you get to do the Academies, again. Should be no problem for experienced players. And you are, of course, welcome to contact the Academy GM's and let them know you are an old player returning to be recertified. Most GM's have no problems with those kind of "heads ups" as long as they are legitimate.

Most of the time the trip though the Academy can be done in a couple sims rather quickly. Ya should fly though. :)

As mentioned above, if you've been MIA for over six months then it is asked you go thru the Academy just to "refresh" yourself. Glad to see you back. Hope you get onto a sim soon! :)

I know alot of good sims you can join. But what days are good for you? For students, busy with alot of homework and can't stay up too late, I'd reccomend the Aegis (Fri 10PM) or the Excalibur (Sun 10PM).. or otherwise, I'd strongly reccomend the Arcadia or Republic.. and if you're a TOS fan, there's always the Hood. I have great fun in that sim. Anyways.. whatever suits your timeframe.. they're all good sims in their own special ways. Watch a few of them, and see which one you like best. (or you can be like me and choose more than one-- not reccomended though). :)

Vex was only gone for three months, so I'm 99.99999999999999999% sure, he's safe. :blink: <offtopic>I hope so. Geez, I was totally lost , and had no idea of what to do on our last Excalibur mission without him. :) :P</offtopic>

If a player is away from simming for six months or more (or if there is a gap of six months or more between academy graduation and the first advanced posting), the player will be required to graduate from the academy system again, in order to refresh their skills.

I'm thinking of a big 50 foot neon sign stating the six month tenure rule in big, fat letters.. with fireworks and a marching band, carnival with rides, food, games and a circus! That'll get their attention -- ooh, and bag pipers too. :)
