I personally love Ford and GM products especially Chevy. You can't beat the T-Birds, Belairs, and Corvettes. I hate Dodge with a passion, they are fire hazards on wheels, their engines catch on fire a lot. I also hate asian models and most newer style vechicles they are missing a lot of the classic style of glistening metal and chrome, and are replaced with fiberglass and plastic :P.

Well what do you like?

My favourite brand by far is Ferrari. Pure speed, styling and handling to match, with a long storied history. Italy premier supercar manufacturer if I do say so myself. My favourite Ferrari, is probably the Ferrari F-40, of the mid 80s. Pure guts on that one.. not to keen on the new Enzo's styling though.. I do like the other Ferraris in production.. 575M, 360, and especially the 360 Challenge Stradale. But realistically, I'd choose Honda or Toyota. I've been in and driven these cars, and they are very reliable, economical, and fun cars to drive. I just hate it when people add those cheesy bumber kits, 20-ft spoilers and mufflers the sizes of grapefruits. Geez, you call that a car? Psshh. Anyways.. Dreamcar: Ferrari, Realistic: Honda or Toyota.

Actually, THE #1 Fire hazard on wheels has to the the Ford Pinto of the 1970s. With a rear mounted gas tank, rear ending one of these bad boys turns both cars into an instant incinerator.

Well I like the Asian models - long black hair, thin, don't have a lot of the attitude American models do, and... oh, sorry, misread the topic. :P

lmao @ Dumbass, nothing like those Asian Imports, eh? But Nem, I am curious as to why you think of Bond when you see a Shelby Cobra? James Bond has never driven one in his movies. Examples of Bond Cars: Austin Martin DB-5 :P, Lotus Esprit, BMW Z-3, BMW 750i, BMW Z-8, Aston Martin Vanquish.

But nothing beats a Ferarri in my books. :)

I prefer the muscle cars of the 60's, when they are fully restored and not supped up out side of the packages available when they were manufactured. My favorite would be the Camaro.

Because Jag is in the lead I think I'll put up the '66 Jag for a Comparitive to the Shelby Cobra of the same year

Jag's in the lead, eh? I never knew we had such a sophisticated taste here.. I'm quite partial to the Jags too. But technically, Jaguar is owned by Ford has been since the 1980s. When Ford acquired Jag, they were thinking of making more luxurious versions of the Ford Taurus and calling that a Jag.. ugh, I sure am glad they didn't do that.

The E-type Jaguars are my favourite though.. they kind of look like the Ferraris of tht time. :P

I myself am a fan of foreign cars, any of them I love them all. Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagon, etc. But I'm a huge fan of Japanese cars.

American cars are horrible cars IMO. Any of them are hazards on the road. Everyone one I know that has a Ford, hates it with a passion because something is always wrong with it. :). One of my friends had a brand new Mustang and on her way to school one day last year the breaks on the car just decided to stop for no reason and she almost go into wreck. She was smart enough to use the emergency break though. The car was only 2 years old and almost every month something on it or in it would break.

While everyone in my family has been big fans of Honda and BMW's. Awesome cars, I love them to death. My sister's little raggity Honda is 7 years old and the only major problem it's had was that the AC broke and she had to get it fixed. We'll as you know in Florida that's a huge problem! But besides that it still runs like a kitten. :P.

So never buy a Ford. Or as I like to call it "Fix Or Repair Daily." :). Evil cars.

I don't care much for the image of cars. Just as long as I get my money's worth out of it, then I'm happy. :D.

Fixing the problems of the cars are half the fun. You can't be happy unless you get grease on your hands. Also your friend probably isn't even riding the car right and isn't giving it the proper look around every day. There will be no thrashing the Mustang that is a beautiful car :P

Ahh, Anderson, a man after my own heart.. LOL. Fix Or Repair Daily, F**** On Race Day, Found On Roadside Dead.. Fords are evil cars indeed. As much as I like American cars (of 1980s - present), I do want my cars to work 3 days after I buy it. I remember my father's Caravan.. it was purchased used, but one week after he bought it the brakes failed, then after awhile the gauges didn't work, it had engine troubles, transmission problems.. only has like 170,000 kms. I doubt it'll reach 250. In contrast, we also have a '93 Toyota Camry.. it has over 260,000 kms, and owned it since '96. The only problems we had was replacing the flaron in the airconditioner, and a burnt out wiper motor. No engine or tranmission problems. :)Japanese cars are also more gas efficient than most American makes.. the new Toyota Prius hybrid is a good example, and even became the first hybrid to win the coveted Golden Calibur, and the title of Motor Trend's 2004 Car Of The Year.

It's not fun when you have to shell out hundreds and hundreds of dollars of your own money to fix the dang thing. When your student your not exactly the weathliest person in the world. :) .

I think taking it to dealer almost every month is enough of a look around for any car, since they'd give it a check-up anyway. :D.

My car has only seen the dealer every one in a while. Like when I lost my key and someone stole one of my tail lights. :P . Still don't know how they did that one....

And just like Hans said my Honda is very fuel effiencient. 20 Bucks to fill her up and that's almost every other week. I love my car, it's so awesome. :)

You should never need to call anyone to fix your car if your problems should be few. We've had Fords all my life and we rarely ever have any problems with them. We've have Mustangs, T-Birds, F-150's, Taurus', Escorts, Mercurys, Lincoins, torinos, and many more :) and we don't have many problems because of something called preventive maintence which you guys probably do with your imports so there :P

Sorry Nem. But I think when your Breaks stop working for no apparent reason that's a big problem and the thing needs to be taken to fix. :)

Now I've never had an American car and neither has my family. We're happy with our Japanese and German cars. We won't be sad if Ford ever goes away. :D. And my car rarely gets a check-up since it normally doesn't have a problem. :). Every once in a while, normally when I get the oil changed, is when the car get's it's check up. Besides that it runs just peachy keen, but then again it's only 3 years old now. But I don't see anything happening to it in the near future. :P

Actually, in Gold Finger, James Bnd drove the Aston Martin DB-5. A very sexy car

But, the Mereces Gull Wing definately is one of my favourites. Such a beautiful design, well ahead of its time.

If you've never owned a Ford how do you know that they are so bad as you say? We've owned Hondas, Toyotas, and so on before and they broke down a lot more then our Fords ever did. We own a 1992 Taurus that we bought new and we've never had a problem with that. We bought a brand new 2000 civic and it gave us so much trouble we sold it within 4 months. So don't get me started on your perfect Hondas or Toyotas because they break down a lot too so shush.
