Why Do I always Answer Questions with Questions?

Do I, really?

Open Personal Log, Admiral Atragon-9, Commanding Officer, USS Manticore, NCC-5852, password *********, Stardate... whew! now I really don't know...

Okay, so now we're not 5,000 years in the past, we're 5,000 years in the FUTURE!!

Yet it looks so abandoned on Earth. No durable structures beyond those from ancient time, no great civilizations, no evidence of an advanced race at all. How is that possible!? What could have happened to it all? Even if we stopped advancing... Evolving! What has happened to our level of technology? It must have been something devastating, something that destroyed cities, countries, civilizations!!

There has to be some sort of "history" we can find. If not actual records of decline, then we should be able to find physical evidence of... something! A bomb, a plague, an attack! Once Science is very sure of our temporal location, I will begin a detailed examination of the surface. We have been holding station over Northern Africa so far, but it's time to examine the rest of the globe. We are still about a week away from losing our power source, but I think we have some more freedom to explore, to... exploit, since we won't be any long-term contaminant. Assuming we can get back to our past, we won't have affected our time line. Who knows, maybe if we can get back to our time, we can change this future. Accch, I can feel that dull pain in my head starting up again - there are just too many variables to keep balanced when dealing with temporal mechanics.

First things first... When are we??

Computer, EOM, EOT
