There's something rotton..

"There's something (or Something is) rotton in the State of Denmark" is a famous phrase coined by a character called Hamlet, by the famous Earth playwriter William Shakespeare. Though this isn't Denmark, but the USS Excalibur, Tar'Mok found this to be a suitable quotation for his current situation. Tar'Mok was going over the scans they took whilst orbiting the gas giant that exploded and claimed the lives of the scientists onboard and 3.5 billion individuals on the nearby planet. However, after his scans were complete, Tar'Mok detected a sensor malfunction, and 7% missing data. He wasn't the only one to have suspicious readings. The crew of Mr. Semek, Ms. Micheals, and Mr. ONiel, also had descrepancies in their sensor data. However, just when Tar'Mok was about to forward the discrepancies to the proper authorities, the data had magically re-appeared. Tar'Mok quirked an eyebrow. Obviously, somebody was accessing the files, but whom? They are encrypted, and highly classified, and only Excalibur crew, and other high-ranking Federation Officers had access to these files. Tar'Mok thinks it is highly unlikely that it was accessed by hacker, due to the high security protocols of the main computer -- the Fort Knox of all computers, or so to speak. They were smart to replace the missing data, so Tar'Mok rules out the possibility of amateurs such as Ferengi looking for a profit. He surmises that they are indeed professionals, and probably Federation. But it is highly illogical for them to remove and replace the data without indentifying themselves. All the while, his commanding officer are currently incarcerated in prison for a crime they did not commit. Tar'Mok hopes that he and the crew can find a way to clear their names. Justice has come along way on Earth recently, so Tar'Mok remains optomistic. Tar'Mok replicates some Vulcan tea and walks back to his console, going over starcharts and event logs. He's been sitting here for three straight hours, and had little success. His Vulcan insticts tell him, this will be a long night...
