Brian Graham was born in Carlisle, England on the planet Earth. There he grew up on a farm with his parents Jonathon and Martha Graham. Although not having an appeal for space themselves, they encouraged their son to join Starfleet, which Brian did at the age of 18. He left the English countryside and moved to Starfleet Academy in San Francisco.

While attending the Academy, Brian concentrated in the standard security fields, brushing up on his weapons skills, hand-to-hand combat, and demolitions. However, his interest was in combat piloting, due to his family history. One of his ancestors had been a pilot in the Royal Air Force during Earth's Second World War, and this had influenced Brian's career decisions. After pursuing this course, Brian was given the privleage of serving in the Academy's Nova Squadron.

Brian graduated Starfleet Academy, placing 9th in his class. Although perfoming admirably in his courses, an incident on Stardate 200310.29 caused him to fall back several positions, as Academy students are usually quite competitive when it comes to grades. Following his graduation, Brian was awarded a position on the U.S.S. Excalibur, Soverign-class, as an Assistant Security officer with the rank of Ensign on Stardate 200312.18. Y-Ens.jpg

On Stardate 200402.15 Brian was given the position of temporary Chief of Security when the Excalibur and her crew participated in a wargame scenario. It was also during this excercise, on Stardate 200402.22, that Brian received a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade. Y-LtJg.jpg

On Stardate 200403.28 Brian returned to his previous position of Assistant Security Officer as the wargame scenario ended and ship's stations returned to normal.

On Stardate 200407.05 Brian Graham was physically altered due to a transporter accident. His physiology is consistant with an Andorian male, which includes the following information from the Starfleet Alien Database:

Andorian Information

Mentally however, Brian is indistinguishable from before the accident. His memories, personality, thinking ability, and culture have not been altered. This situation has affected Brian, not only physically, but emotionally. Raised a human, Brian has a self-created conflict within himself becasue he is now not human. He also cannot be accepted into Andorian society, which is very family oriented. Brian feels he is caught between two worlds, and is unsure of which he is supposed to be.

On Stardate 200407.25 Brian was promoted to the rank of full Lieutenant. Y-Lt.jpg

As of Stardate 200412.12 Brian took over as Chief of Security for the USS Excalibur in it's current assignment in the Gamma Quadrant.

Later, on Stardate 200507.10 Brian was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Y-LtCmdr.jpg

It was during this time that Brian and several other members of the USS Excalibur embarked on a fact-finding mission to the Romulan held world of T-Rogora. (Starfleet File IX-357-B: DETAILS CLASSIFIED) The awayteam was later captured and taken back to Camelot Station, one step along the journey that would end on Romulus with Brian's and the rest of the awayteam being executed as spies against the Romulan Star Empire. This never came to pass however since the awayteam was freed from the Romulan brig section of Camelot Station.

With the Excalibur being extensively damaged after the T-Rogora mission, Brian and the rest of the Excalibur crew were transferred to the USS Morningstar by Starfleet Command to continue operations in the Gamma Quadrant. During his time on the Morningstar, Brian was present during the survey of Surmac, and the events on Al-Ucard. It was during the Morningstar's time on Al-Ucard that Brian earned an official reprimand on his record, due to a violation of the restricted Al-Ucard zone in a rescue mission of Commander Corizon.

Brian was also present on Morningstar during it's investigation of the missing liner Aquaran, last reported in the Onnaris Expanse. It was on this mission that the Morningstar encountered the renegade Hundred fleet. Following a flight back to Camelot, with the enemy fleet in close pursuit, the Morningstar, Camelot Station, and the combined Federation, Romulan, Klingon, and Dominion fleet. Despite heavy losses, the Allied forces held their ground and the Hundred fleet retreated with the arrival of an additional Federation task force, led by the newly refitted and enhanced Excalibur.

With extensive damage to the Morningstar, the crew has been reassigned back to the Excalibur to continue with Allied activities in the Gamma Quadrant.

Brian worked alongside much of the Allied forces in preparing the planet Avalon for long-term colonization, including implementing a colonial defense network.

Following the colonization preparation assignment, Brian took part in the continued conflict developing between the Dominion and the Scorpiad and thier allies. Brian temporarily assumed the position of First Officer aboard the Excalibur as it led a fleet to engage Al-Ucardian forces at 42-GX, while a second fleet engaged other enemy forces at Karemma. The Allied fleet at 42-GX was victorious over their enemy, with timely arrival of unlikely reinforcements: the Hundred, who immediately withdrew after rendering aid.

Federation losses amounted to thirteen starships destroyed, with multiple other starships receiving varies degrees of damage, several severe. One of which, was the Galaxy-class Magellan. Losing much of its senior staff, including its First Officer, Brian transferred to the Magellan to assist as it continues to function in the Gamma Quadrant with the rest of the fleet in countering Scorpiad aggression.

Brian Graham

-------------------------------------------------------

Brian Graham has exhibited several characteristics, some becoming of a Starfleet officer, some possible less so. On the positive side, Brian is very dedicated to his duty, sometimes bordering on being a workaholic. This sometimes causes a problem for him, as he likes organization and orderliness. When things go wrong, or seem to get backed up, Brian's work-stress increases to moderate levels. He tries to create and be part of a perfectly working department, however, such a feat is almost impossible to accomplish. He tries to create a balance with interaction with his fellow officers as well. Not wanting the reputation of a drill sargent, but also wanting a professionaly functioning department, Brian has put himself on a thin line that can be difficult to tread consistantly.

Socially, Brian is also two sided. While friendly with those he is familiar with and already has built up a repitoire, he does not take well to large gatherings made up mostly of strangers. He doesn't have a clinical phobia of such settings, however they are not his preffered environment, which he has described as being too confused and unpredictable. Interacting with such ones follows this same course. Jovial and comical around his friends, Brian does fine. Stangers, however, leads him to awkward silences and small talk, both of which he hates. His preferred method is a small group setting made up of those he knows and does not know. While focusing speaking attention on those he is familiar with, Brian observes the conversations of those he knows less as they particiapte in the group, and then can engage them in conversation when he knows about them enough.

Interaction with fellow officers is usually one sided. Brian attempts to be respectful to his superior officers at all times. Branded at the Acedemy as "too serious" by his fellow cadets, this also led to less contact with other cadets in social settings, since Brian thought they weren't taking thier Academy-time seriously. Brian attributes most of his suprior offcer dynamics to his father's constant reminders of respect and propriety, which have stayed with him throughout his Starfleet career.

Brian also has a negative aspect of keeping up appearances, which he has almost perfected to an art. Never wanting to seem indecisive or mistaken, Brian will sometimes take the longer, more difficult route so as not to appear helpless. He will ask for help when he needs it, showing he can work with other officers, but he cannot stand looking foolish while on duty.

What we have is someone who is almost totally double-sided, but tries to balance them in a way that will work the best, which sadly, cannot happen 100% of the time.

UPDATE: Stardate 200603.21

From previous experience, it would seem unlikely for Brian to become more unattached from others, though he has exhibited this on numerous occassions in the last few months. This could probably be traced to the near disaster and loss of the Morningstar during the Defense of camelot Station in the Gamma Quadrant. Although the ship survived, it sustained heavy casualties, some among the senior staff. From that point forward, Brian seems to have become more attached to duty, and less attached to others, keeping most conversation to a business-like tone and mostly-business in content. This episode of detachment may be a defense mechanism for him to compensate with the loss of established relationships, and a barrier to forming more.

Although not having any adverse affects as duty is concerned, this condition is not particularly socially healthy and should be closely monitored.
