Hidden Disturbances Part 2

The spotlights grew dimmer as the illustrious figured moved away from the window and sat in a raised chair in the chamber. He looked over at his two guards, grinning from ear to ear. “Father will be proud of us; won’t he, Three and Four?”

The two guards nodded back at him, saying nothing.

“We have extracted almost all of the ore in this planet and greatly punished those rebel slaves. The footage we have got of their punishment should be enough to deter another rebel uprising for another hundred years at minimum. Now, how should we eliminate these disgusting no-tails? . . . What to choose Gas, fires, a flood? . . . So many choices to make.”

The furry figure leaped from his chair and grasped to a tree limb and to the top of the chamber with his tail. He looks down at the stern guards, who do nothing except maintaining their placid postures. “Flooding is too routine and common . . . you know, the mining always turns these into rainy worlds, so that will just not do it. I want something that will make my first command position more special than those before me. I must make father proud, mustn’t I?”

One of the Guards nods at the question, as the command figure ponders to himself: “I know what to do! An acid flood . . . no one has eroded the no-tails like that! We could use all that mining acid that we would’ve only abandoned thus far. It gives it a far more cost effective appeal. As soon as all the_ _ore is loaded, I want the acid vats dumped . . . and us out of here, quickly!”

The guards nodded and went to work at separate consoles.

After some time, the last stores of ore were placed in the Cargo hold. The Chamber began to rise out of the filthy mine, leaving only the slaves in its place, simply staring up at it. They didn't know if they should feel glee or fear. As the command figure looked down at the slaves, he laughed as the vats of acid poured on the unsuspecting victims. They could be seen down below, attempting to climb the walls. But, with so little strength, they were unable to gain any ground and were only washed away in the potent acid that would devour their flesh. Screams of horror and pain echoed in the room as the Monkien Commander laughed and the people below disappeared from the view screen… (too be continued)
