Getting Stuck Behind a Desk... is Good

::Sitting at the console in his and Jami's quarters, speaking with the Fleet's Medical Fitness office::

Yes Commander, I understand the seriousness of Commander Farrington's health. Trust me that I would do nothing to compromise my Second Officer's... and my wife's well being.

{Response from the unit sounds like a "Charlie Brown" adult, all trumpet with the cone inserted}

Please, Commander, I know all the details and how the stresses of a ship post can delay her healing. But what about her mental state? I *know* that she would be distraught if she felt that this is the end of her deep space career. I think that the opening at the Helm position, on a ship Commander Farrington knows as well as any home she's ever lived in, and her need to remain off her feet as possible is the perfect marriage of coincidences.

{WAHHH-Wahhh-wahhhhh, wahhh, wannhhh, wahhhhh, whaaaaa}

::Cutting him off:: Commander? COMMANDER. This ship is departing Bethesda station at once. We need a helm officer and we need our Second officer back. I will get the proper clearance to return Jami Farrington to duty status and in the meantime, I will take personal responsibility for her well being on this ship. Does the Admiral make himself clear?

::pause and then:: {Wahhhh, wahh}

Very Good, Commander. Your name will be mentioned favorably in my report. Admiral Atragon-9 out.

::Cuts the comm channel and stands to head back into the bedroom::

Time to tell Jami the good news... and hope she agrees that is *IS* good news.
