Reaching Nirvana

"Relax your mind, Mr. Seiben. Free your thoughts.. let them go!" T'Shar tells Seiben. Meditation sessions have been pretty much non-stop for Seiben during his stay at the P'Jem Monestary. However, the intense non-stop meditations is opening Seiben up mentally. His isolation and fear of rejection has almost faded. And, for the first time in his life, Seiben is coming into terms with himself. T'Shar begins to massage Seiben's body, as he continues to meditate.

"Think of your 'happy place', Mr. Seiben. A fond childhood location, or memory? Everybody has a 'happy place', Mr. Seiben." T'Shar says. Seiben concentrates his thoughts of the Rhine Forest in Germany. This is the place where he spent most of his life. Seiben soars past the majestic German mountains and prestine forests. The cool, refreshing alpine air fills his lungs. Seiben sets down on a large mountain. He looks down at the forests and smaller mountains below. Seiben is so high up, he can see clouds from below. The wind rustles Seiben's blonde hair. The only sound is of the blowing wind. He's far above the hustle and bustle of Berlin, and far below his work on the Arcadia. His perfect spot, at 1100 metres above ground. Just then, T'Shar walks behind him.

"Now, Mr. Seiben, think back to your actions on Arcady, your not reporting for work, due to a hangover, your disspointed Chief Engineer and your JERRI project, you perfected for 2 months, only to be put on hiatus due to lack of an effiecient propulsion system." T'Shar said. That caught Seiben off guard. "But I thought I was to forget, to set all that aside." Seiben asked. T'Shar shakes her head. "Mr. Seiben, you cannot just set these problems 'aside' and hope they'll go away. For they will not. They will remain bottled up inside of you and once again, they will erupt into a massive spectacle just like your drunken escapes. You must realease these thoughts. It is not healthy to keep emotions bottled up inside of you. The Romulans are a good example. They abandoned their Vulcan meditation traditions, and now their planet has fallen into greed, curruption and chaos."

Seiben scratches his head. "So, how do I go around doing that?" he asks. "Put all your negative thoughts and feelings to a specific part of your mind." Seiben concentrates, and with the help of T'Shar's telepathy, he manages to do so. "Many people have different personalities surpressed inside of them. These personalities emerge depending on their mood. Let it emerge." T'Shar places her fingers on Seiben's head. "I am now acessing the Right Hemisphere of yoour brain. Your dreams and memories are located in this part of your brain. I am now going to force your negetave, self loathing personality out." T'Shar does a Vulcan chant, and presses hard on Seiben's skull. Finally, with a tremendous jolt of energy, Seiben he's a version of himself fall out from his mind. Seiben looks at his alter-ego. Blood shot eyes, hair and clothes a mess, this alternate Seiben is himself when he was hung over. "No one will forgive me.. Jaruq's gonna fire me, and reccomend my court-martial. I'll be placed in Federation prison for attempted murder. I'm so ashamed.. " the Alternate Seiben said. He cries shortly after.

Seiben looks at himself in disbelief. "Th..that's all the emotions I had bottled up inside me?" Seiben asks. "Yes, Mr Seiben." says T'Shar. She points to the crying negetave version of Seiben. "What you see here, is twenty-two years of surpressed loniness, isolation, rejection and failure erupting like a vulcano. Now, cast him off this mountain. This symbolises the casting away of your negative thoughts and feeling about yourself that hinders you." T'Shar says. Seiben grabs the negative version of himself by the neck, and throws him off the mountain. The negative Seiben plummets 1100 metres down the mountain, hitting rocks along the way. What's left over, lands on a rock. The body is quickly devoured by bears and other carnivores. Nothing is left over, not even the bones.

At that moment, Seiben feels an empty exilirated rush inside of him. The negative space in Seiben's mind is replaced with more positive energy, causing a soothing rush to course down his spine and throughout his body. Seiben smiles and walks over to the mountain ledge. Spreading his arms like an eagle, he breathes in more Alpine air, letting the positive energy flow through his body. I am a valued, key part of the USS Arcadia.. I have many friends now, a great job with a great boss, and four extremely entertaining projects to work on. Two of which will let me express my arcitectural creativity, and the other two release my artistic and scientific flare. All... is calm in my life. I am well taken care of as the son of a conglomerate tycoon, I also can use this money to help others.

All is calm, in my life. Seiben recites a Vulcan chant.. he's reached nirvana. The Buddist state of perpetual bliss. His mind and body are one. Negative thoughts cast away....

Seiben and T'Shar return back to the monestary. She removes her hands from Seiben's head. "Mr. Seiben, you are now healed. I have done all I can for you. Use the meditation pratises I tought you, and remember to frequent Lt. Erko for mindmelds if you feel especially stressed out." Seiben graciously bows to T'Shar. "I will do that, T'Shar. Thank you so much. I don't think I've ever felt better about myself than I ever did before. I feel as if I am a changed man."

He says. "You are a changed man, Mr. Seiben. You came in here emotionally weak and come out an emotional champion. Do remember to keep your emotions in shape. " Seiben smiles again. I most definately will, T'Shar." Seiben sighs happily. Then looks at T'Shar. "Are you hungry, T'Shar. Trichon told me about a hamburger joint near here. Would you care for some cheeseburger?"

Seiben asks. T'Shar raises her eyebrows. "The consumption of fatty, greasy foods such as 'cheeseburgers' are an illogical choice for a meal." she states. "Well, uhh, I believe they also have a wide varity of healthy Vulcan cuisine. Please, it's my way to thank you for what you've done." Seiben says.

T'Shar nods and accepts Seiben's offer. Twenty minutes later, Seiben bites into his double-bacon cheeseburger with a large order of onion rings and up-sized strawberrry milkshake. Delicious! T'Shar picks on her pasta and salad with dressing on the side. Tric was right, this place is great. He thinks to himself. I'm gonna have to consider adding this programme to the Engineering Lounge, he thinks. Shouldn't be a problem. He can easily obtain the necessary holo-emitters from his Cousin, Lt. Hans Seiben of the USS Republic. He's somewhere in the Gamma Quadrant, last he heard. Otherwise, he'll just call his father and ask him. Seiben and T'Shar eat in silence. Seiben's face is a bright smile. He finally feels like he's ready to take on the world once again.
