Stardates....?

Hey ya'll, I'm wondering something. How do you do your stardates? Cause in Voyager and such they are always like 6 numbers point 1 number, but yours are 4 numbers point 2 numbers, and I'm copmletely lost... How do I do them?

To keep things simple, we just use a standard date format...

0209.30 would be September 30, 2002

First 2 numbers represent the year (2002)...  3rd and 4th represent the month (September) and the 5th and 6th represent the date (30th).

Christmas would be 0212.25  :)

Hope that helps!

Dude really, like why are you reviving a nearly three year old topic? It's bad nettiquite. That's just spamming you know. But here's a good stardate converter you can use.

Heh heh... Admiral Garnoopy... heh. As much as I hate seeing old topics revived like this, I can't help but laugh every time I see "Admiral Garnoopy."

The stardate converter is interesting but it doesnt apply to the sims. TPTB at paramount have admitted that there is no proper way to convert real dates to stardates on the show.

The formula we use on the sims is the one that webby said, YYMM.DD. Pretty simple.

On Challenger, we still get to use the old Roman calendar.

That will change, of course, after the Federation is formed.

something they've never really dealt with, is that everyone in the federation comes from planets with different length days. not only would you have jet lag, you would probably become physicaly sick for like a month if you had to totally condense or extend your physiological clock like that. here's another thing, if the main characters of a show are all on duty at the same time, is there a completely different crew when they are off? thats not very wise, having none of the senior staff around when something happens. One other thing, there was an episode of Voyager where ensign Kim was in command in the middle of the night (playing his clarinet for Tuvok). Who works the night shift for the sim?, i personally wouldn't mind kicking up my legs and taking the center chair to pull an all nighter on Arcadia, whaddaya say moose? (j/k  )

Who works the night shift for the sim?

I think the CJAN (Chief Janitor) and his staff runs the sim at night.
