The Heavy Hand of Justice

::Sitting in his Ready Room, looking over the reports of their battle with the Breen warship, rubbing his now shaved chin::

Well, at least we know the weapons system checks out...

What a mess! We go to hunt down the smugglers, catch a ringleader, end up destroying the buyer - at least This buyer - and end up exposing ourselves as the undercover operatives. So, what do we have left? Nothing but a nasty, bitter man that the authorities just took off our hands for questioning. I hope Jenks will give them what they need, since that station's smuggling operation is now blown as is any chance we would have to find out anything else from the staff.

The records show that the Federales also picked up Marty and Burly, since they seemed to know something about Jenks' work as well. I wonder if that dock will finally start running efficiently, now that those three are out of the way.

Well, we won't be able to go back and see, the Station Manager isn't too thrilled with our Plasma Leak trick and he let it be known that he didn't "need any more of our help." So, we're back in business - We are the new and improved Manticore made to look just like the old one that was blown up. If it weren't for all my years in Black Ops, I'd still be scratching my head on that mind twister.

I haven't heard any news from Bethesda Station about Jami and I've convinced Sovak that, for the "efficient running of ship operations," it would benefit the ship and crew to stop there now and see if she is ready to return to duty. Sovak knows that I'm not really fooling him, or even trying to, and that this is a personal mission for me. I just have to know. It's been long enough and I have to face the doctors and really understand if they think she will come out of the coma or not. I've buried myself in this mission, but I can't keep running from the truth, from reality. This career I've chosen is full of loss and sadness, but it's never hit so close to me as this and I... I have to know if I've killed my wife.

::stares blankly at the wall::

(w) please, no.
