I'll probably end up doing the same thing as all other years, shoving some stale, soggy breadcrumbs up a dead bird's butt. :)

I thought the holidays were meant for doing something you don't do everyday? :)

I will be heading to my parent's house on Tuesday with my girlfriend. She hasn't met my parents yet, so it'll be great. :)

On Thanksgiving Day, we'll have 20 family members in my grandmother's house and we'll all eat at least two platefuls of food. Then, after letting that food sit, we'll delve into dessert table that usually is filled from end to end with pies. Finally, we'll gather around the piano and sing some fine Puritan hymns. Yes, Thanksgiving is awesome! :)

Well, I'll probably be shoveling the foot of snow we just got today, I dont celebrate thanksgiving, christmas, or many of these winter holidays for many reasons, which I wont get into because I dont want to start another religion, belief system clash of the titans.

I have issues with these holidays and thats that, if you so care as to what I think, then AIM me or some where where I wont get in trouble for these sorts of things.

I will be up bright and early Thanksgiving morning at 4 am to start cooking for Thanksgiving. Everything will be homemade from the stuffing to the potatoes to the pies....

It will be a lot of work during the day (especially the morning), but the evening will be a blast. :) (Especially since I'm not the one thats gotta clean the kitchen. After all, I already slaved in the kitchen all day. lol)

Its really differant in Canada then America we had our before the Americans did and their one consisted of escaping for religious freedom and then starving and then being helped by natives and then killed them or was that later down the road I dunno oh wait that was a differant area nm. :)

All of our family lives in Minnesota or North Dakota (with the exception of Grandma - I'll get to that) so we just hang out with the kids. In Arizona we'd spend our Thanksgiving morning out on a hike, now in Florida we need to find a new "tradition" ... walking on the beach and searching for shark's teeth!

We'll inject a turkey full of garlic butter and then deep fry it. Add to that some mashed sweet potatoes, boiled dumplings, and pecan pie -- and then FOOTBALL! I need to find the game schedule.

Friday I'll be driving to Arcadia FL :) to spend a couple of days with my Grandmother who spends her winters here in Florida. It's an eight hour drive, but heck, it's been YEARS since we've had family so "close".

Happy Turkey Day to all us Yanks

Hey Kroells, my Governor can beat up your Governor now. :)

Actually, I never really got into Thanksgiving. I don't mind it but it's not something I go out of my way to celebrate. First of all, the only 3 people in my family I can relate to are my dad and my uncle and grandfather on my mom's side. Grandpa died recentlly and we think my uncle is still in jail so I pretty much have to spend it with my dad.

2nd, I don't like turkey. Actually that's not true. I don't mind turkey when it is prepared right. But it's a pretty complicated food to cook unless you're used to it. If you only do it once a year you're gonna get it wrong. It will either be undercooked or dry - and if it isn't dry when you cook it then just wait until after a week of leftovers.

I think it would make much more sense to BBQ a steak for Thanksgiving since it probably won't be nice enough to BBQ again until late March, but that's just me. I'm not very traditional unless the tradition makes sense in it's own right. I don't like tradition for the sake of tradition (one more reason I'm not like my family).

1. Inject with garlic/butter -- or your choice of marinade

2. Fry (about twenty minutes -- depends on turkey size)

3. Eat -- YUM, there is no better tasting turkey!

See how easy it is??

Poor Van Roy, I do agree with the BBQing of a steak and maybe some nice tender beef ribs to alone with it hmmmmm, you don't need to follow other peoples thanksgiving traditions to have your own traditions I know a lot of people who don't have turkey for thanksgiving they have chicken, steak, pork, and roast. Don't let other peoples traditions hamper your own for you don't even need traditions with your family have some with your friends or get a dog and spend it with him just whatever makes you happy :)
