U.S.S. MANTICORE BRIEFING #1371 STARDATE 52607.06

Manticore remains docked at Starbase REDACTED enduring extensive repairs. Meanwhile, two teams have been sent out on crucial missions. Bren, Annika and Pilot have been sent to a civilian research base where they will attempt to retrieve Bren's stolen Ketracel White data. Upon arrival they noticed how eerily empty the facility is. But the amenities are 5-star! Angela Reed has presented Bren with the job of... finishing his own research. While Bren worked, Annika searched through the computer and discovered some unsettling work derived from Bren's original research. She also found an admin terminal that could be used to finish up their mission. EJ went on the winding trek to find the room and when arrived found it curiously belonged to someone they hadn't seen before. Faldek, Harnett and Kansas have been sent to a secret Section 31 station as they attempt to snuff out potential spies within the organization. Faldek and Harnett met with the station commander, Captain Kellerman, who will be working with them to find the spies. They began their investigation, first by looking at the flight craft and now by beginning their interrogations. So far it appears they're getting the runaround by, whom, they're not certain of. Kansas, in the meantime, is doing some sleuthing of her own... in other people's quarters.

::in his office, having just ordered Beta and Gamma shifts to report to the interrogation room for their interviews with Faldek and Harnett::

:::Watches everyone heading towards their interview area::

::enters the interrogation room, still with Harnett in tow::

::is actually on his duty shift now::

::begins looking tapping on the screen::

::thinks he hears steam hissing from the cabinet and ponders for a second::

::Cee simply walks a bit, exploring the new ship as she tries to locate the Requisitions officer::

:: monitoring security cams from OPS....monitoring other things as well ::

I think these people are intentionally trying to give me an ulcer.

::looks at the network from Pilot's console, searching for the ketracel data::

::enters some notes from Ensign R'miine's physical in her file, then joins Dr. McKenna with tending to Erich::

::Pulls out her multi tool and opens the door to quarter masters room::

:: The voices, so many voices, were still there, but it became more steady in his head ::

::Turns on the brain wave scanner::: you must stay if you aren't well

::hums a song she remembers, still prowling her new home, excitement causing her tail to jaunt heartily behind her::

"The voices just got a bit much. If I feel it to be too much I'll come back."

+Pilot+ I think I found what we're looking for. I can mirror the credentials of the last person who used this terminal. ::looks at the pathway to get the ketracel files::

Mister Faliver, I'm associated with a group trying to bring about a balance to the Alpha Quadrant. Power leans quite heavily in one or two directions and we feel that has brought upon us a disorder, a monopoly of ideology if you will. We're trying to bring back a balance so people have choices.

It's not you I would distrust. You were simply following orders. The person that you are has his own thoughts and feelings about what you did or were told to do. Some you may agree with some you may not. But what you think and feel is irrelevant as long as you do what is ordered.

The research you were sent here to retrieve, YOUR research, we still need finished. Ketracel White is not our final goal for your research. Turning into a balancing agent is what we endeavor to make possible.

I believe your associate Doctor Sorenson may have stumbled across some of it while perusing the data base. At first glance it's a frightful proposition. But our intentions with it, our use of it, can bring about so much more than it appears capable on the surface.
